GRIM REAPER IN THE SKY / DRONE ASSASSINATIONS WITH NO ACCOUNTABILITY

Sooner or later we will all have to come to grips with the collateral psychic damage we have wrought in the Middle East with our Drone assassinations on both innocent victims as well as the perpetrators themselves ~ for chaos reins on both sides when accountability ends: Allen L Roland, PhD

“If you want to control someone, all you have to do is to make them feel afraid.”  ~ Paulo Coelho

Post-Traumatic Stress is a byproduct of combat duty for both the hunted and the hunter ~ but nowhere is that more visible and intense then in Drone warfare when terror arrives unexpectedly from the sky.

At that point, Drone warfare becomes intimidation.

"Sometimes I am so sad that my heart wants to explode," an Afghan man says, speaking directly into the camera. "When your body is intact, your mind is different. You are content. But the moment you are wounded, your soul gets damaged. When your leg is torn off and your gait slows, it also burdens your spirit." The speaker is an unnamed victim of a February 2010 drone strike in Uruzgan, Afghanistan, but he could just as easily be an Iraqi, a Pakistani, a Somali, a Yemeni ~ or for that matter a wounded American combat soldier.

But what about the psychic damage and suicidal feelings of the Drone operators and personnel ~ " When we are in our darkest places and we have a lot to worry about and we feel guilty about our past actions, it's really tough to describe what that feeling is like," says Daniel, a whistleblower who took part in drone operations and whose last name is not revealed in National Bird. Speaking of the suicidal feelings that sometimes plagued him while he was involved in killing halfway across the planet, he adds, "Having the image in your head of taking another life is not a good feeling."

As Pratap Chatterjee explains in Truth Out ~  "If recent history is any guide, these drones do not just kill terrorists; in their target areas, they also create anxiety, upset, and a desire for revenge in a larger population and so have proven a powerful weapon in spreading terror movements across the Greater Middle East " ~ or create blow back in terms of fanatical retaliation and revenge.  See Article ~

In addition to those they kill, Washington's terror drones turn out to wound (in ways both physical and psychological) their own operators and the populations who live under their constant surveillance and this is clearly seen in Gavin Hood's excellent film Eye in the Sky.

See three minute preview ~

"Washington’s use of invasion, bombings, and murder by drone as its principle weapon against terrorists is mindless. It shows a government devoid of all intelligence, focused on killing alone. Even a fool understands that violence creates terrorists" writes Paul Craig Roberts

This anguished poem is by an unnamed Afghan woman whose home was destroyed by a drone is an example:

May God destroy your tank and your drone,
you who’ve destroyed my village, my home.

THE UNSEEN ENEMY PTSD CONTINUES TO TAKE ITS TOLL

U.S. Army Soldiers on Patrol in Vietnam in 1966 / Wikimedia

During the Vietnam War, as well as subsequent Wars, the U.S. military plied its servicemen with speed, steroids, and painkillers to help them handle extended combat ~ but this symptom oriented approach has only delayed the ravages of PTSD as well as the true extent of soul damage and suicidal ideation that occurs as the result of drug enhanced active duty combat: Allen L Roland, PhD

"The Greek epics aren’t just war stories. They’re stories about the relationships between men, and the terror they felt in combat. Odysseus comes back from war and his own wife doesn’t recognize him. This is a very human thing:"  Denver Mills, USN retired speaking of PTSD

Listen to the words of  Vietnam combat veteran, Denver Mills, who became a Veteran Center adjustment director under the  U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs, writing about the psychic toll of active duty combat;

"At first, we only saw Vietnam vets, but then, lo and behold, we discovered that WWII and Korea vets had the same problems. Of course, we knew that all along. After WWII and Korea, it was “suck it up and don’t talk about it,” but we know that a large number of WWII veterans either committed suicide or died from high-risk behaviors.

PTSD is really a reaction to being exposed to death, and anyone who’s been exposed to death in even a single incident, like a car accident ~ you don’t want to go back and think about that all the time. But you can’t not think about it.

Now imagine you’ve had a whole bunch of people get killed around you, day after day. Afterward, you’re still amped up on the adrenaline and endorphins, and you just want to calm down and stay away from people and keep your mind off what you’ve been through. So you do things, like you work 80 hours a week, then come home and go down in the basement and drink ’til you pass out. Or maybe go from woman to woman to woman, or you get into drugs and alcohol. That’s the avoidance phase.

And it’s not just American veterans. It’s veterans throughout history. There’s a great book called Achilles in Vietnam written by a psychiatrist and professor of classical literature. He compared The Iliad and The Odyssey to the experience of vets he’d worked with.

The Greek epics aren’t just war stories. They’re stories about the relationships between men, and the terror they felt in combat. Odysseus comes back from war and his own wife doesn’t recognize him. This is a very human thing.

I guess I’ve been struggling, myself, for quite a while, but I think my work with other veterans helped me take care of my own issues in many ways. Helping other people is a healthy thing to do."

I am indebted to fellow Navy veteran Denver Mills, who has not only helped many veterans but also personally helped me set up and fund a special veteran's Healing the Wounded Heart transformation group with combat veterans in 2010 ~ based on my book Radical Therapy, Surrender to Love and Heal Yourself in Seven Sessions (not Seven Years).

Denver was curious about my Unified Field of love, joy and soul consciousness that I wrote was beneath our deepest fears ~ but was amazed by the transformations of many of the combat veterans who went beneath their pain and drank from that spring of joy in these Band of Brother's groups and whose lives were changed forever.

The Band of Brothers Healing the wounded heart transformation program was supervised by Adjustment counselor Sal Ueda and graduated well over 100 veterans in over five years ~ some of which are now in service counseling other veterans. See Veterans Today Post ~ http://www.veteranstoday.com/2015/11/24/concord-vet-center-paves-way-for-needed-heart-centered-approach-to-vet-rehabilitation/

Research has found that 3.2 percent of soldiers arriving in Vietnam were heavy amphetamine users; however, after one year of deployment, this rate rose to 5.2 percent. In short, the administration of stimulants by the military contributed to the spread of drug habits that sometimes had tragic consequences ~ because amphetamine, as many veterans claimed, increased aggression as well as alertness. Some remembered that when the effect of speed faded away, they were so irritated that they felt like shooting “children in the streets.”

In addition, a recent SFVA study strongly suggests that soldiers who experience killing experiences are twice as likely to attempt suicide ~ which strongly supports the reality of soul damage as a contributing factor for veteran’s suicide as well as the obvious need for a proven heart centered approach toward veteran rehabilitation.  See my report ~ http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/04/25/rising-vets-suicides-heart-centered-approach-needed/

By and large, writes David Grossman in his book On Killing, Vietnam was “the first war in which the forces of modern pharmacology were directed to empower the battlefield soldier.” For the first time in military history, the prescription of potent antipsychotic drugs like chlorpromazine, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline under the brand name Thorazine, became routine.

This outcome, however, was short-sighted. By merely alleviating soldiers’ symptoms, antipsychotic medicines and narcotics brought immediate but temporary relief. Drugs taken without proper psychotherapy only assuage, suppress, or freeze the problems that remain deeply embedded in the psyche. Years later, those problems can explode unexpectedly with multiplied force ~ as they most certainly did with our rising veteran suicide rate.

Intoxicants do not eliminate the causes of stress. Instead, observes Grossman, they do “what insulin does for a diabetic: They treat the symptoms, but the disease is still there.”

In her book Flashback, Penny Coleman quotes a military psychologist who says that If drugs are given while the stressor is still being experienced, they will arrest or supersede the development  of effective coping mechanisms, resulting in an increase in the long-term trauma from the stress.

What happened in Vietnam is the moral equivalent of giving a soldier a local anesthetic for a gunshot wound and then sending him back into combat. See Transcend story ~  https://www.transcend.org/tms/2016/04/the-drugs-that-built-a-super-soldier/

Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) says that rather than continually send heartfelt condolences to the families of veterans suicide victims, it is time for lawmakers to investigate the connection between prescription psychiatric drugs and violence, including suicide.

Here's an excerpt from their excellent recent wake up call to law makers ~

" The military long has been aware of the increasing number of military suicides and last August released the findings of the Department of Defense (DOD) 2013 Study title "Risk Factors Associated With Suicide in Current and Former US Military Personnel.

While psychiatric drug information did not make it onto the questionnaire, CCHR explains that there is ample data to support an investigation into the increasing number of psychotropic drugs prescribed to military personnel and the part the drugs may play in the recurring violence."

Here are some important findings from the report ~

·            # Since 2002, the suicide rate in the U.S. military has almost doubled.

·            # From 2009 to 2012, more U.S. Soldiers died by suicide than from traffic accidents, heart disease, cancer and homicide.

·            # In 2012, there were 349 suicides among active duty military personnel - more than were killed in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.

·            # Veterans are killing themselves at a rate of 22 a day - one every 65 minutes.

·            # The U.S. Department of Defense now spends $2 billion a year on mental health alone.

·            # The Veterans Administration's mental health budget has soared from less than $3 billion in 2007 to nearly $7 billion in 2014.

·            # From 2005 to 2011, the Department of Defense and the Veterans Administration increased their prescriptions of psychiatric drugs by nearly seven times. That's more than thirty times faster than the civilian rate.

·            # One in six American service members is on at least one psychiatric drug.

·            # Thirty-seven percent of recent war veterans are being diagnosed with PTSD and 80 percent of those are prescribed a psychiatric drug.

Colonel Bart Billings ~ a clinical psychologist with a  34 year military career in both active and reserves ~ speaks out regarding the growing evidence of psychiatric drugs, over- medication, suicide and violence ~ as well as the VA's refusal to deal with the situation. See this important must see 8 minute video and article ~ http://www.prweb.com/releases/2014/04/prweb11735195.html

But there is a demonstrated Heart Centered approach to PTSD which I have both facilitated over the past five years as well as mentored the past year as a heart centered volunteer consultant ~ a program which concentrates on gratefulness and forgiveness and focuses on self-healing versus medication.

The power and truth of a heart centered approach to self-healing has withstood ridicule and then opposition within the VA and medical pharmaceutical community ~ but it is now fast approaching the stage where its acceptance and value are self-evident.

BERNIE SOARS IN WISCONSIN, NEW YORK NEXT ~ HILLARY AND ESTABLISHMENT RATTLED

As Bernie soared with a major victory in Wisconsin, his real opponent is revealed and it's not just Hillary Clinton ~ it's the bought and sold major media and establishment who support Clinton and all but ignored Sander's triumph as they continue to pad the bankroll of an increasingly irrelevant Hillary who is still weighed down with credibility issues and making her last stand for the status quo and Wall Street in New York: Allen L Roland, PhD

“I learned early on not to be automatically dismissive of a Bernie Sanders initiative or amendment… He’s tenacious and dogged and he has determination, and he’s not to be underestimated.”  Senator Roger Wicker / Republican, Mississippi

The Wisconsin win for a determined but not be underestimated Bernie Sanders is his sixth in the last seven presidential nominating contests, but he still faces a difficult task to overtake Clinton as the presidential nominating race moves to New York on April 19 and to five other Eastern states on April 26 ~ but the momentum has clearly changed in favor of Bernie partcularly regarding the direction of the Democratic Party.

WSWS reports that "Sanders outpolled Clinton in 79 of the state’s 82 counties and dominated nearly every demographic and income group. He won more than 80 percent of the vote among those aged 18 to 29, more than 70 percent of the vote among independents, and defeated Clinton by 54 percent to 44 percent among nonwhite voters under 45 years of age."

He has now won seven of the last eight contests for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Most of exit poll voters want change but correctly feel that Sanders is better equipped to “shake up” the status quo ~ and Hillary unfortunately represents the embodiment of the establishment and status quo.

WSWS further reports that "In its election night coverage, the American media barely reported these figures, showing far greater interest in the fortunes of billionaire demagogue Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner. The media portrayed the victory of Texas Senator Ted Cruz over Trump as a political earthquake while downplaying Sanders’ more sweeping victory over Clinton."

See WSWS article ~

Despite this near media blackout ~ Sanders said he was optimistic he could win in New York, Oregon, and California and both Hillary and the establishment are clearly rattled.

The victory comes as a reluctant Hillary and eager Bernie have agreed to meet for a debate on April 14, five days before the New York primary.

Bernie needs to win up to two-thirds of the remaining delegates to catch Hillary, who will keep accumulating delegates even when she loses under a Democratic Party system that awards them proportionally in all states ~ but that support advantage is evaporating as the Bernie wave continues to strengthen with each primary victory and Hillary's vulnerability becomes more apparent. Riding on President Obama's coat-tails is not fooling anyone ~

As John Pilger expounds in CounterPunch ~ "The 2008 presidential campaign of Barack Obama should have alerted even the most dewy-eyed. Obama based his “hope” campaign almost entirely on the fact of an African-American aspiring to lead the land of slavery. He was also “antiwar”.

Obama was never anti-war. On the contrary, like all American presidents, he was pro-war. He had voted for George W. Bush’s funding of the slaughter in Iraq and he was planning to escalate the invasion of Afghanistan. In the weeks before he took the presidential oath, he secretly approved an Israeli assault on Gaza, the massacre known as Operation Cast Lead. He promised to close the concentration camp at Guantanamo and did not. He pledged to help make the world “free from nuclear weapons” and did the opposite.

As a new kind of marketing manager for the status quo, the unctuous Obama was an inspired choice. Even at the end of his blood-spattered presidency, with his signature drones spreading infinitely more terror and death around the world than that ignited by jihadists in Paris and Brussels, Obama is fawned on as “cool” (the Guardian)."

But Pilger saves his most damaging words for Hillary ~ "Trump is a media hate figure. That alone should arouse our scepticism.…The danger to the rest of us is not Trump, but Hillary Clinton. She is no maverick. As presidential election day draws near, Clinton will be hailed as the first female president, regardless of her crimes and lies ~ just as Barack Obama was lauded as the first black president and liberals swallowed his nonsense about “hope".

"One of Hillary Clinton’s most searing crimes was the destruction of Libya in 2011. At her urging, and with American logistical support, NATO, launched 9,700 “strike sorties” against Libya, according to its own records, of which more than a third were aimed at civilian targets. They included missiles with uranium warheads. See the photographs of the rubble of Misurata and Sirte, and the mass graves identified by the Red Cross. Read the UNICEF report on the children killed, “most (of them) under the age of ten”.

As WSWS points out ~ "Sanders is riding a wave of economic anger and hostility over social inequality. Despite all efforts to cover it up, it has proven impossible to conceal the deeply rooted sickness of American society: the ever-widening economic gulf between the top one percent (or one-tenth of one percent) and the broad masses who work for a living and produce the wealth"  ~ but I point out that Sanders is a truth teller and credible people's candidate whereas Hillary is not trusted and a pawn for an already discredited establishment, which is obviously her moneyed 1% base.

As I have said before ~ the true test of a person's character is not how they handle adversity but how do they handle political power and in that regard Hillary's flawed political character is best witnessed with her unguarded reaction on CBS, as Secretary of State, to the brutal assassination of former ally Libya's Muammar Gadhafi ~ "We Came, We Saw and He Died "

YouTube video ~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtH7iv4ip1U

Make no mistake about this ~ The Clintons ARE the Status Quo and the Establishment and Hillary's feeble attempts to don populist garb is laughable.

If Hillary tries to disqualify Sanders, she will end up disqualifying herself in the minds of millions of voters who do not trust the Clinton lie machine. She will then parade a thoroughly discredited Bill Clinton, from out of political mothballs, as well as try to win at any cost ~ including her own extremely shaky integrity.

I rest my case, the only true alternative to the establishment and a continuation of the Status Quo is Bernie Sanders.

RADICAL THERAPY IS ALL ABOUT SELF- HEALING

The approach I take in my book RADICAL THERAPY, SURRENDER TO LOVE AND HEAL YOURSELF IN SEVEN SESSIONS (Not Seven Years) and in my heart centered consultations with Veterans with PTSD as well as others with PTHD (Post Traumatic Heart Disorder) is indeed, in reality, a radical approach for self-healing ~ and meant to be shared with the world: Allen L Roland, PhD

The Basic underlying and uniting force of the universe is a psychic energy field of love and soul consciousness ( the Unified Field ) which lies not only beyond time and space but also beneath our deepest fears and whose principal property is the universal urge to unite: Allen L Roland. PhD

My joyful demonstration that this infinite Unified Field of love ~ and not the speed of light ~ is the absolute constant of the universe also leads me to a simple and joyous observation that psychology, science and religion ultimately all rest on a common foundation of love and soul consciousness.

Dr Stanley Krippner explains my work in the foreword of my book "No psychiatric manual lists "soul loss" as a condition in need of treatment but shamans tell me that "soul loss" is widespread in contemporary society ~ Allen Roland has had the insight to understand what the shamans have told me and he also has developed the skills to help his clients regain their souls."

To elaborate on Dr Krippner's words, I have developed the skills to help my clients regain their souls over the past 45 years by being their coach and not their therapist ~ by jump starting their hearts through an action based self-healing process which stresses love and gratefulness and then coaching them through their deepest fears to the love, joy and soul consciousness deepest within them which I have identified as the Unified Field .

The gift I give my clients, particularly combat veterans, is the gift of the honest, free and joyous gift of myself as well as a clear demonstration of what it's like to be in the field and not be controlled by fear. Reading the first 9 chapters of my book is a prerequisite before our first session (either Skype or in person) where I literally take them by the hand and tell them that "It's Your Turn!"

At that point the soul connection is made for then through the life chart ~ they connect the dots of all their important love relationships ~ the inner soul light then goes on because their homework is to thank these people and tell them why they are or have been a gift in their life. This action based homework leads them through their fears and to the life changing realization that they were loved and are actually healing themselves.

And I, as their coach versus therapist, become their friend forever for I have also touched their hearts with my empowering work and unconditional love.

They all have access to these self-healing steps in my updated Kindle Book RADICAL THERAPY, SURRENDER TO LOVE AND HEAL YOURSELF IN SEVEN  SESSIONS (not seven years). Here is the Kindle link http://www.amazon.com/Radical-Therapy-Surrender-Yourself-Sessions-ebook/dp/B00JGE5VQE

And here's a link to the YouTube Skype sessions of the self-healing process I teach and coach ~ Watch, in the first 20 minutes of session five, how Marina conquers her deepest fear by going through it and she demonstrates that beneath her pain and fear is boundless joy. See video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r12MoNnwPKg&feature=youtu.be

All the sessions and exercises are geared toward my clients regaining their souls ~ for the vast majority of my clients have had significant birth trauma or early childhood trauma ~ whereas psychic pain has overridden their inherent joy as well as a state of soul consciousness. From that Well of Grief they created an ego as well as a protective cocoon of ego consciousness ~ for it was seemingly their only choice for survival.

Unfortunately, most of us go through our lives recreating our original pain and aloneness in our relationships ~ not realizing that beneath that well of grief is our original joy, intention and purpose as well as our innate connection to the Unified Field and a state of love and soul consciousness.

It is within that ego cocoon that the innocent and fearful child emotionally resides waiting to be seen and touched through unconditional love and then empowered to say yes to themselves and no longer be controlled by fear.

This risk taking homework of gratitude inspires people to take action and encounter their deepest fears, confront and go beneath their pain and finally surrender to the love and joy deepest within themselves as well as reunite with a Unified Field of love and soul consciousness that exists not beyond time and space and also beneath their deepest fears. The key to the kingdom of the soul is gratitude for God only reveals itself to a grateful heart.

“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.”
~ Marcus Tullius Cicero
