The
center of convergence in a near-death experience
Recent scientific experiments have shown that a person
clinically dying may experience a surge of electrical activity in the brain which
could be explained as a surge in consciousness as we slip away from left brain
ego consciousness into the super awareness of right brain soul consciousness
and thus the near and after death experience: Allen L Roland
On
August 12, 2013 ~ Rebecca Morelle, Science reporter, BBC World Service, wrote on BBC News,
Science and Environment that "Scientists report that a surge of electrical activity in the brain could be
responsible for the vivid experiences described by near-death survivors and
that in humans this could give rise to a heightened state of

The lead author of the study, Dr Jimo Borjigin, of the
University of Michigan, said: "A lot of people thought that the brain
after clinical death was inactive or hypoactive, with less activity than the
waking state, and we show that is definitely not the case ~ if anything,
it is much more active during the dying process than even the waking state."
Dr Borjigin also said it was feasible that the same thing would happen in
the human brain, and that an elevated level of brain activity and consciousness
could give rise to near-death visions or, I would add, after death
experiences.
It
has long been my opinion that the phenomenon
associated with the near and after death experience indicates that a state of
unconditional love and soul consciousness lies not only beyond apparent death ~
but also beneath our deepest fears. Thus, death is an illusion measured
by the limits and depth of our consciousness and only the ego resists this
awareness of the boundless treasure within
us all.
Dr.
Eban Alexander’s Near Death Experience, as revealed in his recently published
book Life Beyond Death says the same thing as he describes God as Love ~
”I now fully understand the meaning of unconditional love ~ and
the intensity and personal nature of that deity is the divine spark within each
one of us.“ The story about Alexander's deceased sister
guiding him from beyond death is priceless. 7

Aldous Huxley who
created and participated in many experiments of exploring the boundaries of
human consciousness evidently came to the same conclusion regarding the
totality and oneness of love ~ He wrote in a letter to Humphry
Osmond, that he experienced "the direct, total awareness,
from the inside, so to say, of Love as the primary and fundamental cosmic fact.
... I was this fact; or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that this fact
occupied the place where I had been. ... And the things which had entirely
filled my attention on that first occasion, I now perceived to be temptations -
temptations to escape from the central reality into a false, or at least
imperfect and partial Nirvanas of beauty and mere knowledge."
But it was
Teilhard de Chardin who wrote on the last page of his personal journal
three days before he died in 1955 ” The last enemy that shall be
destroyed is death “
Teilhard knew what
lay beyond death decades before the well documented wave of near and after
death experiences that have become a modern day phenomenon. He yearned for some
sign or signal to be given from beyond death ~ so that others might know what
he knew. In that vein, he wrote in Activation of Human Energy ~ ” How
comforting and ‘electrifying’ it would be if some signal or sign, some summons
or echo, should come to us from beyond death ~ and give us positive assurance
that some center of convergence really does exist ahead of us. “
Teilhard’s life work
was the reinterpretation of Christianity in the light of evolution, but his
great life dilemma was that very few people could understand the truths that
were so obvious to him, and myself for that matter ~ that God is love.
Teilhard wrote that "Love alone is capable of uniting
living beings in such a way as to complete and fulfill them for it alone takes
them and joins them to what is deepest within themselves."
It is my premise that
the near death experience allows someone to momentarily pass through the dark
tunnel of internal pain, aloneness, despair and apparent death ( from which
the ego and ego consciousness is born ) into a state of light and soul
consciousness which is one in the same with our deepest connection to the Unified Field.
As a
licensed therapist, with over 40 year's experience of dealing with people’s
deepest fears and anxieties, I can unequivocally state that the experience of
surrendering to one’s deep and long repressed feelings of pain, alienation,
aloneness and despair is almost always initially experienced as a dark tunnel
of never-ending pain which leads to death ~ and must be avoided at all costs.
However, it is only the ego and fear that gradually die in the well of grief
while joy and a true sense of self emerge from hiding like a phoenix rising
from the ashes. It is no different than being pulled into a black hole in
space ~ except that the black hole is within ourselves but beneath it is the
immense joy, intention and purpose of a Unified field of love and soul
consciousness.
Just as
Stephen Hawking has suggested that black holes in space may in essence become
white holes at a point of singularity, where all notions of time and space
break down ~ so I am claiming that at the end of the black hole of
despair within ourselves ~ we also reach a point of singularity, where all
notions of time and space break down and we become one with a Unified Field of unconditional love and
soul consciousness.
The same thing happened
to myself over 40 years ago when I fully opened my heart and then let go and
surrendered to my own well of grief and tumbled through a rabbit hole into my
own singularity and a state of love and soul consciousness ~ wherein my life
became inner directed, versus outer directed, and my heart became my guide from
a place of gratitude and service.
The near and
after death experience is direct proof that this phenomenon is happening and
most probably in the final stages of death ~ when a demonstrated surge of
electrical activity would indicate that the right brain and a state of soul
consciousness would become dominant and a fear based left brain state of ego
consciousness would no longer be needed for survival and protection purposes.
I have
experienced two after death experiences which would verify this phenomenon or
state of consciousness that exists beyond time and space ~ both with people who
I deeply loved. It's interesting to note
that both of these people appeared joyful, youthful and obviously ego-less.
1. My own mother
suddenly and unexpectedly died in 1987 a few months after reading my paper on
the Unified Field. But she appeared to me at
the moment of her death, some 3000 miles away, sitting on my bed and lovingly
and joyfully saying these words to me ~ ” Allen , I Know, Allen I Know ..

Thus, it appears that
death is an illusion measured by the limits and depth of our consciousness and
only by surrendering to love will this truth be revealed ~ and we resist this
path at our individual and collective peril.
