TRUMP IMPLODES AS CONSTUTUTIONAL CRISIS EXPLODES

"Help me, Steve, I'm in Over My Head and Losing my Mandate "

President Trump and top advisor Steve Bannon confer as Trump's credibility rightfully crumbles and the Trump circus faces an inevitable foreclosure.

"Democracy is the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage."  H. L. Mencken

Stop wishful  thinking ~ we are in the midst of a right wing coup. The principle architect is Steve Bannon and Trump is his willing disciple. As I said last week, it will most certainly get worse ~ chaos is Bannon's aim and out of it will come a right wing order and the courts will attempt to give them their legal cover. It's been in the planning stage for some time and it comes as no surprise but is already resulting in massive public revolt and protest. The United States is perilously close to war with the principle target being Iran as well as the growing possibility of a false flag attack. LA Times cartoonist David Horsey fully captures the frightening reality of a mentally unstable President coming face to face with not only his crumbling credibility but his rapidly eroding base: Allen L Roland, PhD

THE PETULANT PRESIDENT WITH HIS CONSIGLIERE

The Ultimate Reality Show – President-Elect Donald Trump Is Now Prime Time

"On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron." H.L. Mencken

I originally posted this column in May, 2016 and posited that America had achieved the pinnacle of H.L.Mencken’s famous quote about the eventual election of a moron with the disputed election of George W Bush but that was just a rung above the growing possibility of a President Trump. Donald Trump represents the last desperate hope of an American electorate who have been seemingly left out of the political process and have lost respect for our Republic ~ so in their powerless dilemma, many have turned to a billionaire huckster who will gleefully voice their fears and concerns while creating a grade D political reality show which sadly has become American politics ~ and he is now our President and creating chaos along with his bizarre right wing inner circle.

"Here is something to keep you awake at night: Your future, and the future of the world, now rests in the hands of a tiny team of zealots and opportunistic hacks in the White House who prefer to rule the country by edict and “alternative facts” while ignoring the courts, leaving Congress out of the loop, purging seasoned officials from the government and targeting the independent media. Yes, there was an election, but this feels more like a coup" ~ David Horsey, LA Times

And now, we have Trump's National Security Advisor Michael Flynn's accusation that Iran's recent ballistic missile test violated a UN resolution, which is not backed by any evidence, and Press Secretary Spicer's allegation of an Iranian attack on a U.S. ship which is also a complete fabrication - Paul Jay interviews Ben Norton

We are living in dangerous times but we are now a part of Trump's ultimate right wing reality show ~ which demands our rightfully concerned voices or we will suffer the same fate as Germany in the 1930's.

A TASTE OF THINGS TO COME ~ YOU'RE FIRED CNN!!

To fully understand President-elect Donald Trump, you must watch Trump's favorite film, Citizen Kane ~ and realize that Trump sees the United States as one of his many companies or possessions. Trump will be just as willing to possess it or eventually discard it, if it fails to satisfy his monstrous authoritarian ego ~ like Citizen Kane, he  will eventually self-implode from unlimited greed and will take his Empire down with him. But not before revealing the enormous money behind Trump in the hands of Robert and Rebecca Mercer whose massive political infrastructure saved Trump's campaign from disaster last summer and then financed his tainted victory : Allen L Roland, PhD

“Remember that the left controls Hollywood. They control entertainment. They control the movies. They control television. They control mass media. They control certainly journalism. And so, what Citizens United has figured out is that through the media, they can in fact move public opinion. They can shape America, and thereby shape Washington.”  ~ Citizens United Promo

In the months leading up to Trump’s presidential win, Robert and Rebecca Mercers would prove a formidable force. Beginning after the disastrous Republican convention in July, they would furnish the Trump campaign not only with millions of dollars but with new leadership.

Robert Mercer and President-elect Donald Trump

The Mercer Hedge fund is known for its secrecy. It’s been closed to outside investors since 2005, and what exactly they trade isn’t fully understood. What is known is that what Mercer along with retired Renaissance Technologies founder James Simons and co CEO Peter Brown have done is master the math behind something called quantitative trading, which involves gaming the stock market using advanced algorithms and data analysis to create unprecedented profits.

But they would furnish Trump with something more ~ a vast network of non-profits, strategists, media companies, research institutions and super PACs that they themselves funded, and largely controlled.

This explains Donald Trump's megalomania for he is supported with Mercer Foundation house money as is clearly seen in this must see 25 minute Real News Network expose ~ https://youtu.be/It7anI_t8Xw

During Tuesday's Press Conference Trump Insisted  that he had the right to do whatever he wanted, Trump at one point declared: “As president, I could run the Trump organization, great, great company, and I could run the company ~ the country. I’d do a very good job [at both], but I don’t want to do that.”

The Freudian slip, mixing up “company” and “country,” was the most revealing moment in the press conference. For Trump, the “country” and the “company”  and, more broadly, the oligarchy ~ are one and the same.  See WSWS article ~ Trump press conference: The oligarchy rules ~ http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2017/01/12/pers-j12.html

See the biggest moments from Donald Trump’s fiery press conference and an ego beginning to unravel  ~ 3 minute must see video.

As I said, to fully understand President-elect Donald Trump, you must watch Trump's favorite film, Citizen Kane and understand that unrestrained greed and power fueled by childhood emotional deprivation and the need to prove yourself can easily lead to self-implosion and eventually self-destruction.

Orson Wells in his own words, in a 1941 interview, describes the principle character in his book and film as well as the meaning of Kane's last words, Rosebud ~  http://www.wellesnet.com/orson-welles-explains-the-meaning-of-rosebud-in-citizen-kane/

" Kane was raised without a family. He was snatched from his mother's arms in early childhood. His parents were a bank. From the point of view of the psychologist, my character had never made what is known as "transference" from his mother. Hence his failure with his wives. In making this clear during the course of the picture, it was my attempt to lead the thoughts of my audience closer and closer to the solution of the enigma of his dying words. These were "Rosebud." The device of the picture calls for a newspaperman (who didn't know Kane) to interview people who knew him very well. None had ever heard of "Rosebud." Actually, as it turns out, "Rosebud" is the trade name of a cheap little sled on which Kane was playing on the day he was taken away from his home and his mother. In his subconscious it represented the simplicity, the comfort, above all the lack of responsibility in his home, and also it stood for his mother's love which Kane never lost."

"The protagonist of my "failure story" must retreat from a democracy which his money fails to buy and his power fails to control. ~ There are two retreats possible: death and the womb. The house was the womb. Here too was all the grandeur, all the despotism, which my man had found lacking in the outside world. Such was his estate ~ such was the obvious repository for a collection large enough to include, without straining the credulity of the audience ~ a little toy sled from the dead past of a great man."

In real life Donald Trump was born in 1946 , was an energetic and bright child. His parents sent him to the New York Military Academy at age thirteen, hoping the discipline of the school would channel his energy in a positive manner but instead it may have caused him to close his heart and set in motion his desire to accumulate wealth and possessions in order to fill the emotional void of his early separation from love, his family and deep fear of failure.

Benjamin  Hufbauer, Politico Magazine, also makes the Citizen Kane connection with Donald Trump but comments that Trump could never grasp the film's central point and most likely, I would add, because of his fear of failure.

Excerpt: "Citizen Trump didn’t come out of nowhere. He’s a character type with a long history in America ~ the narcissistic, acquisitive magnate who, in the words of Orson Welles, is “interested in imposing his will” on the country in what is, in the end, just another act of self-aggrandizement. That was Welles’ description of Charles Foster Kane, the protagonist in his classic Citizen Kane, which Trump identified back in 1992 as his “all-time favorite movie,” an endorsement he repeated in his interview with Megyn Kelly in May."

The film was based on the life of another strident and megalomaniacal magnate, William Randolph Hearst, and it told the sad story of the corrupting influence of vast wealth. Welles later said he meant it as a cautionary tale about this American type. “I must admit that it was intended consciously as a sort of social document, as an attack on the acquisitive society—and indeed on acquisition in general,” Welles told the BBC in 1960.

Near the end of his life, Kane is in a self-made hell of excessive ego, ambition and acquisition that Welles later described this way: “I wished to make a picture which might be called a ‘failure story.’ … "My story was not, therefore, about how a man gets money, but what he does with his money ~ not when he gets old ~ but throughout his entire career.”

Today, taking a tour of Hearst Castle is like looking inside a part of the mind of Hearst ~ or that of a Kane or a Trump.

"In real life, I do believe that wealth does in fact isolate you from other people.” Trump concluded that “It was a great rise in Citizen Kane. And there was a modest fall.”

That last line, however, suggests that Trump didn’t really understand the point of Citizen Kane, which was that Kane’s rise, too, was somewhat delusional and, in the end, a failure. And Trump clearly believes that, unlike Kane, he will have a great rise without any corresponding fall at all ~ not even a modest one."  With his Mercer Foundation financial connections, this is understandable denial but not true reality.   See politico article ~ http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/06/donald-trump-2016-citizen-kane-213943

In Psychology , Denial is a defense mechanism in which confrontation with a personal problem or with reality is avoided by denying the existence of the problem or reality ~ it also is the first step of Ego death which is soon followed by Anger and bargaining which the world glimpsed yesterday in the person of President-elect Donald Trump at his first press conference.

One of the things that is really useful if you’re a billionaire and that you get your money by doing nothing socially useful, is to valorize what you’re doing and to demonize anyone that might actually restrict it by law, regulation even social mores. And propaganda is historically, the answer to that.” ~ Bill Black

We are indeed living in unsettling times, particularly when reinforced by unstable leadership, and it's a reminder of one of my favorite quotes by H.L Mencken ~ "Giving every man a vote has no more made men wise and free than Christianity has made them good."

THE ULTIMATE REALITY SHOW / PRESIDENT-ELECT DONALD TRUMP IS NOW PRIME TIME

President-elect Donald Trump with attitude

I originally posted this column in May, 2016 and posited that America had achieved the pinnacle of H.L.Mencken’s famous quote about the eventual election of a moron with the disputed election of George W Bush but that was just a rung above the growing possibility of a President Trump. Donald Trump represents the last desperate hope of an American electorate who have been left out of the political process and have lost respect for our Oligarchy ~ so in their powerless dilemma, many have turned to a billionaire huckster who will gleefully voice their fears and concerns while creating a grade D political reality show which sadly has become American politics ~ and he is now, believe it or not, our President-elect: Allen L Roland, PhD

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” – H.L. Mencken (1880 – 1956)

On August 28th, 2015 I posted an Article on Veterans Today entitled America Deserves Donald Trump and now almost nine months later, he is about to become the Standard bearer for the Republican Party in the 2016 Presidential election. See article ~ http://www.veteranstoday.com/2015/07/28/america-deserves-donald-trump/

The Donald is now the living embodiment of American Exceptionalism in all its blatant glory and unless we reverse Citizens United, the public is reduced to voices in the wind. In the past,  as their frustrations mounted, they supported and voted for candidates that were almost directly opposed to what they deeply felt ~ and they obviously settled for mediocracy and rule by the Oligarchy ~ while seething and gnashing their teeth in the background.

As Mencken predicted, the people do not need to gnash their teeth any longer for a true champion of their frustrations has arrived in the form of a downright moron with the slogan of Make America Great Again.

Many, including myself, felt we had reached rock bottom with the election of George W Bush who immediately led us into our illegal war with Iraq and the loss and displacement of millions of Iraqi lives as well as over 6000 American servicemen and countless wounded in action ~ which we are still paying for.

We thought the bar could not be lowered any further when then Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was formally nominated for vice president at the 2008 Republican National Convention ~ but that was just a prelude for 2016.

ENTER THE DONALD / FUELED BY THE MEDIA

Amy Goodman (Democracy Now) explains how the major media is complicit in dumbing down our political process as well as marginalizing any true discussion of important issues and ruining our elections ~ as well as creating Donald Trump.
See three minute Goodman video ~

But perhaps media driven egoist Trump may well survive the growing satire and public abuse and play an important role in the upcoming 2016 Presidential Primaries as Michael Jensen predicted in the Standard Democrat in July of 2015 ~ or, as Mencken eluded ~ does Trump instead represent the true Heart's desire or Death wish of the American people who have given up hope in our political process.

“Six months ago, by way of example, Donald Trump was not on anyone’s radar screen. Six months ago the polls had Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Scott Walker ~ with a side of Ted Cruz ~ as the recipe for Republican victory.

And rest assured, six months from now there will be yet another scenario that will surely change from today’s snapshot.

I strongly suspect Trump has little or no chance of receiving the GOP nomination. He’ll spend some of his fortune, that’s for sure.

Trump is today’s oddity and the lightening rod on the campaign trail.

But the Trump momentum is easy to understand.

Trump consistently says what many Americans feel and he says it bluntly – which is refreshing in the world of politics.

Trump says illegal immigration will unravel the fabric of our society. He’s right. .

There is nothing politically correct about Donald Trump.

And right now, I honestly think the American public is sick and tired of political correctness.

What’s really fascinating about the Trump candidacy is that despite massive and unprecedented efforts by the liberal national media to paint him as a clown, Trump keeps rolling on and making an impressive showing in virtually all polls.

That must surely have the liberals scratching their heads for an answer.

As I said, I think Trump is somewhat a flash in the pan; a popular guy in our reality television world.

But there is one major benefit to the Trump campaign.

Because of his success thus far, he is forcing the other GOP candidates to talk about the important issues and perhaps slant their opinions in a different direction.

And here is my ultimate dream.

I would love to see Trump and Hillary on the stage debating one day. He would eat her alive and throw the bones to the dogs.

I can think of no better end to her dismal political life”

THE PLOT THICKENS  / POSSIBLE CONTESTED CONVENTIONS AND CLINTON / TRUMP SHOWDOWN

As I said eralier this year, a dull politically correct 2016 Presidential Primary season has suddenly come to life with the appearance of the Donald and Bernie Sanders but despite his enormous ego and overbearing attitude, Trump may just, along with Sanders, help bring this election back to the issues the people really care about (and the Oligarchy ignores).

Perhaps the 2016 presidential election is really an important opportunity to seize and embrace change ~ Justin Raimondo (AntiWar.com) rightfully calls it the Trump Test;

"The Trump movement is different: it is massive, and it is capable of winning. That’s what has the Establishment in such a panic that they are considering denying Trump the nomination and bringing in a candidate on a “white horse” to steal the GOP from the Trumpians. If that happens, the system will be shaken to its very foundations, its very legitimacy in doubt – a perfect storm as far as libertarians are concerned.

But there is more to it than that. If we step back from the daily news cycle, and consider the larger significance of the Trump phenomenon, the meaning of it all is unmistakable: we haven’t seen anything like this in American politics – not ever. Revolution is in the air. The oligarchy is tottering. The American people are waking up, and rising up – and those who try to ignore it or disdain it as mere “populism” will be left behind."   See article ~

We were seemingly heading this summer for a contested Democratic and Republican Convention and this was a good thing ~ for out of this seeming chaos and confusion may have come some sense of direction and order but that was not to be ~ the Clinton machine smelled victory and wanted to seal the deal.

However, there can be little doubt the American people are now being forced  to wake up and it's about time.

As the Sander's movement continued to be ignored by the main stream corporate press ~ there became a  growing possibility of a faceoff between two entitled members of the establishment and the same social club (Trump/Clinton). And bare this in mind ~ the Clintons and Trumps are good friends ~ could it be that Trump was creating his political role, similar to a professional wrestling villain, in order to be the foil for the woman he really wanted to be president ~ after all, he has donated to many of her campaigns and she came to his most recent wedding and who would actually vote for this clown versus Hillary ~ the establishment's anointed one.

Nothing surprises me regarding the Clintons in their quest for money and power particularly in this election ~ as was already seen in New York's election day voting irregularities as well as California in which I personally experienced the formidable Clinton Machine completely marginalizing the Bernie Sanders vote.

PLEASE NOTE: If you're a registered Independent in California, you must request a crossover ballot and vote as a Democrat in order to vote for Bernie Sanders in the Presidential Primary on June 7th.

The Presidency is the ultimate deal for the Donald and that's how he approached his candidacy ~ win at any cost and deal and negotiate later.

"His first 100 days would be riveting,” said Ari Fleischer, a former press secretary for President George W. Bush. “The question would be whether he is capable of downshifting from the hot rhetoric of his campaign to the serious business of building a presidency based on sound judgment and necessary coalition building.”

Mr. Fleischer said it was possible that Mr. Trump would make the adjustment, given his frequent comments about negotiating with Democrats and Republicans to reach compromises.

“That side of him intrigues me,” Mr. Fleischer said. “He keeps alluding to how well he gets along with people. It’s almost like Trump is playing a shrewd game. Tough campaigner today. Great deal maker later.” He added, “Of course, if he wins he’ll have some level of strength and momentum akin to a mandate. That would help.”

PRESIDENT OBAMA WELCOMES TRUMP TO THE BIG CLUB

WELL, GUESS WHAT ~ Donald Trump won the presidency and is now the President-elect. He is already meeting with President Obama and finalizing his transition team. This eerily has the feel of the Inevitable rise of Adolf Hitler to Chancellor in Germany in the late 1930's ~ and Democrats,
Republicans and the main-stream media are in the same state of disbelief and shock.

See Amy Goodman's take on this momentous political moment on November 10th with Glenn Greenwald, who brilliantly explains how the Democrats defeated themselves ~ As Tens of thousands take to streets, block freeways & rally against Trump shouting, "Not My President". See YouTube Video ~

Of course, this reality show election, which is now prime time, may once again marginalize the people and main street issues but it could also focus attention on the excesses and abuse of power by the tottering oligarchy (or the big club) and bring into sharper focus the wise words of the late George Carlin regarding the power of the establishment and who really owns America ~ "The real owners (of America) are the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the decisions ... The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. ... They're not interested in that. ... It's a big club, and you're not in it."  See video ~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5dBZDSSky0\

In the end the real question is how will Trump handle power, for that will determine his place in history as Abraham Lincoln well knew ~ Abraham Lincoln On power: “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”

Donald Trump has been given the ultimate power as President-elect of the United States ~ the obvious question is will he pass the character test that many before him have shamefully failed?
