A toxic black rain is now falling in the Gulf and the EPA and BP are doing everything to deny its existence but the truth is slowly emerging as millions of Gulf Coast residents are now becoming sick because of the lethal effects of oil and dispersants: Allen L Roland

It's day 96 of the toxic Gulf deep water oil gusher ( not spill ). The huge toxic slow-moving plumes beneath the surface have finally been confirmed but the toxic air plumes are still being denied by the Government and BP ~ but there is plenty of evidence that they are not only there but causing significant health and environmental damage.

On day 49 ~ the Gates of Hell in the Gulf were obviously opening for this disaster had the potential of effecting the entire planet and here was the latest update, at that time, confirmed by Matt Simmons on MSNBC ~ but note the mention of the gaping hole on the ocean floor several miles away from the televised leak that was never mentioned by BP. As to the likelihood of a toxic air plume of Gulf oil and dispersants being breathed by human beings ~ Scientific American explained on July 15, 2010: "Of course, sea spray and evaporating water will carry the oil and any chemical dispersants with them… And this polluted air and water vapor certainly will be carried to the near shore and left as an oily residue on everything from trees to electrical transformers… “If there’s oil in the water, it will be coming along with it to some extent,” says marine physicist Rick Luettich of the University of North Carolina. “I don’t know how significant the impact will be.”

And now we have Mark Kaufman, EPA whistleblower being interviewed on July 20th by Amy Goodman on Democracy Now and saying "..we have dolphins that are hemorrhaging. People who work near it are hemorrhaging internally. And that’s what dispersants are supposed to do... many lawmakers and advocacy groups say the Obama administration is not being candid about the lethal effects of dispersants,"

Obviously there appears to be a massive cover up of the toxic air quality in the gulf ~ but here's the visible truth as seen by this Gulf pilot who flew his aircraft over ground zero and then back to the gulf coast and found a sheen of oil over his whole aircraft . He also reports toxic Acid rain reported in Tuscaloosa, Alabama that day ~ which stemmed from clouds over the Gulf the day before. ( Six minute must see video )

So there you have it, that toxic orange oil and dispersant film over the leading edge of that aircraft is not only being breathed by millions of Gulf Coast residents but is also falling as a toxic black rain when storm clouds roll in from the Gulf and spread throughout the region and eventually the globe.

It is now almost 90 days since the Gulf oil catastrophe and the Gulf is already in its death throes as the black wave moves toward the Florida Keys with the East Coast soon to follow: Allen L Roland

We've seen this black wave before ~ except it was the Exxon Valdez disaster. The time March 24,1989 and the scene was Prince William Sound, Alaska. A spill that effected the whole Gulf of Alaska, a clean up that lasted three years with over 6500 workers filing upper respiratory medical claims. In 1994, it went to a class action trial and Exxon stonewalled it to the end.

A detailed computer modeling study recently released indicates that oil from the massive spill in the Gulf of Mexico might soon extend along thousands of miles of the Atlantic coast and open ocean as early as this summer. The modeling results are captured in a series of dramatic animations produced by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and collaborators. We've just returned from spending the day down in Barataria, located about an hour's drive south of New Orleans. The community of fishermen is swimming in oil. Celebrate the 2010 World Cup now because in four years we may well be in the throes of a mass extinction triggered by a mammoth methane explosion in the Gulf that could reach biblical proportions of destruction: Allen L Roland

OK, it was a great World Cup and millions of people throughout the planet watched it unfold sharing joy and agony as their specific teams were either eliminated or advanced on sports biggest stage ~ the World Cup.

I was equally caught up in World Cup fever but I also have an ominous feeling that this could well be the last one ~ particularly as the true extent of the Gulf Coast oil disaster becomes more apparent. In other words, for the first time I'm not talking about an unparalleled disaster in the Gulf ~ I'm talking about possible extinction.

In that regard, here's an informative must-read article entitled Ominous report of Gulf sea floor bulging with gas, extinction level event on the horizon ~ written by Terrence Aym and posted by Watchman on Saturday, July 10, 2010.

Excerpts: " Ominous reports are leaking past the BP Gulf salvage operation news blackout that the disaster unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico may be about to reach biblical proportions .... The bottom line: BP’s Deepwater Horizon drilling operation may have triggered an irreversible, cascading geological Apocalypse that will culminate with the first mass extinction of life on Earth in many millions of years ~ The oil giant drilled down miles into a geologically unstable region and may have set the stage for the eventual premature release of a methane mega-bubble..... The warning signs of an impending planetary catastrophe ~ of such great magnitude that the human mind has difficulty grasping it ~ would be the appearance of large fissures or rifts splitting open the ocean floor, a rise in the elevation of the seabed, and the massive venting of methane and other gases into the surrounding water... All three warning signs are documented to be now occurring in the Gulf..... Measurements of the multiple oil plumes now appearing miles from the wellhead indicate that as much as a total of 124,000 barrels of oil are erupting into the Gulf waters daily ~ that’s about 5,208,000 gallons of oil per day.

Most disturbing of all: Methane levels in the water are now calculated as being almost one million times higher than normal.... If the methane bubble ~ a bubble that could be as big as 20 miles wide ~ erupts with titanic force from the seabed into the Gulf, every ship, drilling rig and structure within the region of the bubble will immediately sink. All the workers, engineers, Coast Guard personnel and marine biologists participating in the salvage operation will die instantly.

Next, the ocean bottom will collapse, instantaneously displacing up to a trillion cubic feet of water or more and creating a towering supersonic tsunami annihilating everything along the coast and well inland. Here's the still unanswered questions regarding this growing catastrophe.

1. Why did a number of powerful players conveniently dump large numbers of BP shares prior to the event which began on April 20th, 2010 ? That includes Goldman Sachs which sold 44% of its shares in BP just prior to when this disaster began. BP’s CEO Tony Hayward sold a large chunk of his BP shares a few weeks before the spill. Both Wachovia and UBS also sold a large block of their BP shares before the spill and It is highly probable that Peter Sutherland played a role in Goldman Sachs decision to dump a large chunk of their BP shares prior to the disaster considering he has maintained an affiliation with both institutions.
Answer: They were aware of the incredible danger of their recklessness and their first action was to save themselves and then stonewall the true extent of this catastrophe for financial reasons.

2. Why is the press and media purposely being kept away from this growing disaster by both BP and the Obama administration ? For instance, the federal government has warned the media to keep away from the epicenter of clean-up operations with the threat of a $40,000 fine for each infraction and the possibility of felony arrests.
Answer: The inside word is that the disaster is escalating ! BP is trying to financially protect itself while the Obama administration is politically protecting itself from the truth of this disaster in a mid-term election year. However, the global financial elite, which Obama answers to, would like nothing better than another vehicle of fear to paralyze the public and solidify their plans for a New World Order.

The highly respected Investigative Reporter Dahr Jamail weighs in yesterday ( Hell Has Come to South Louisiana ) ~ where he interviews Clint Guidry who represents all the shrimpers in Louisiana. Guidry is incensed at what he is seeing ~ “There has been a BP cover-up from day one,” he says, as I write furiously in my notepad, trying to keep up, “The US Government, OSHA [Occupational Safety and Health Administration], the Coast Guard, NIOSH [National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health], all of them are in on it... “Kill the Ocean, Save the Beaches,” a “Trade-Off” decision. Under what logic does this work? The Gulf is the Mother and the Estuaries are the nurseries. If the Mother dies, there will be no children to incubate.. Is BP sacrificing my fishermen’s health and lives to protect themselves from liability issues at a later date?How can we believe liars and killers when they say the worksite is safe? The Experts weigh in: The subterranean methane is pressurized at 100,000 pounds psi. According to Matt Simmons, an oil industry expert, the methane pressure at the wellhead has now skyrocketed to a terrifying 40,000 pounds psi.

Another well-respected expert, Dr. John Kessler of Texas A&M University has calculated that the ruptured well is spewing 60 percent oil and 40 percent methane. The normal methane amount that escapes from a compromised well is about 5 percent.

My scenario ~ When this methane bubble blows, while under the current news blackout of BP and Government enforced silence as well as the blatant deception of the Gusher being contained by BP ~ it will be sold to the public as a natural (not man-made) disaster, FEMA camps will be opened, Government emergency controls enacted and BP will be financially off the hook.

So there you have it, a ticking Methane time bomb in the Gulf that both BP and the Obama Administration refuse to acknowledge. Miles of long underwater plumes loaded with toxic oil and dispersal chemicals are already in the gulf loop and will soon be making landfall on the East coast and eventually Europe by late 2012: Allen L Roland

It's day 63 and time to think global about the Gulf oil disaster because in 18 months it could well be flowing into northern Europe and also as far south as Senegal. Once the oil is trapped in the Mediterranean, you will essentially have a large cesspool generating toxins to the surrounding area. It could also hit Israel through the Mediterranean Sea as the currents pull the oil in from the Atlantic.

That 18 months means close to December, 2012 ~ which nicely fits many global doomsday or consciousness shift prophecies. In that regard, the ongoing Gulf oil gusher ( not spill ) has the makings of a worldwide catastrophe and a call for not only action but a global shift in consciousness ~ from ego centered to a soul centered consciousness of mutual cooperation, altruism and interdependence with nature. But I have always felt that the world will have to be scared into this change and perhaps we are now on the leading edge of that fear driven shift.

With approximately 100,000 barrels of oil per day ( up from BP's earlier estimate of 5,000 barrels per day ) gushing into the gulf ~ three things become apparent;

1. Both BP and the Obama administration have not been telling the American public the truth about this growing disaster ~ BP for legal reasons and Obama for political reasons.

2. There has been a determined effort by both BP and the Obama administration to both protect BP and shield the public from seeing direct evidence of this growing catastrophe.

3. There has been no effort by the Obama administration to alert the Gulf course as to the eventual possibility of a massive toxic methane blow out under the fractured sea bed, the very real probability of a major tsunami if that were to occur and the much more likely near term possibility of the first major hurricane lumbering into the gulf, it's grey clouds rapidly turning dark with toxic oil and chemicals as it lays waste to the Gulf states with its toxic black rain.

Perhaps it's time to remind my readers that we live in a fragile ecosystem and we threaten this interdependent system, with our man-made catastrophes, at our own peril.

As Carl Sagan said, when describing planet Earth from deep in space via Voyager 2 ~ " we are just a pale blue dot " A small stage in a vast cosmic arena ~ a lonely spec in the cosmic dust " ~ a small stage where our ego driven dramas mean absolutely nothing to an evolving universe cemented in love and the urge to unite.

For I would also point out that we are an integral part of a vast cosmic loving plan ~ a Unified Field of love and soul consciousness ~ which we all have access to if we will but surrender to our innate propensity to unite, love and cooperate with one another as well as our precious connection to nature. Now we know why the the gulf coast is not only drenched with the stench of a poisonous runaway oil gusher but the scent of a major deception perpetrated by BP and protected by the Obama administration ~ who are both terrified of the very real possibility of a major doomsday catastrophe in the making: Allen L Roland

Clouds or plumes of oil have been found drifting underwater in the Gulf of Mexico as far as 142 miles from the wrecked Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, government officials said Tuesday. At a briefing, Jane Lubchenko, of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), said that tests conducted at three sites by a University of South Florida research vessel confirmed oil as far as 3,300 feet below the surface. The oil was found 42 miles northeast of the well site and also 142 miles to the southeast. One of these plumes was estimated at 22 miles long, 2 miles wide and 1300 feet deep ~ and the very existence of these plumes has been consistently denied by BP officials.

And what about the million gallons of oil dispersant Corexit 9500, which has been sprayed on the slicks so they will sink and not be visible from the air ?

Corexit 9500 contains compounds that are acutely toxic to invertebrates, and can cause chemical pneumonia if aspirated into the lungs following ingestion. What is seen beneath the slick hanging in the water is a toxic plume of light sweet crude and dispersant, masquerading as plankton. As soon as it is ingested by grazing fish, it starts a journey from the body of prey to that of predator, and on up through the food chain, getting more concentrated at every step.

Why are BP officials obviously lying ?

They are lying because legally the don't want to acknowledge the potential of the greatest environmental disaster of all time as well as there own culpability.

What are they hiding ?

The growing potential of a doomsday catastrophe which could ecologically literally wipe out the Gulf Coast ~ which explains why both Goldman and top BP officials, including CEO Tony Hayward, were selling significant amounts of BP stock days before the initial rig explosion.
This whole grade D movie cries out for an independent investigation and criminal indictments.

What is it that BP and the Obama administration does not want you to know ?

1. The volcano oil pressure is much too strong for any containment and they are still stonewalling this truth.

Dr. James P. Wickstrom reports in Rense.com on June 9th that It has been estimated by experts that the pressure which blows the oil into the Gulf waters is estimated to be between 20,000 and 70,000 PSI (pounds per square inch) ~ which is impossible to control and the benzene release could be deadly for both animals and humans.

But Wickstrom also reveals what US Scientists are forbidden to tell the public about the Gulf ~ " The estimated super high pressure release of oil from under the earth's crust is between 80,000 to 100,000 barrels per day. The oil along with the gasses, including benzene and many other toxins, is deleting the oxygen in the water. This is killing all life in the ocean. Along with the oil along the shores, there will be many dead fish, etc. that will have to be gathered and disposed of... The oil has now reached the Gulf Stream and is entering the Oceanic current which is at least four times stronger than the current in the Gulf, which will carry it throughout the world within 18 months... Take a U. S. map, lay it flat and measure inland just the minimum 50 miles of total destruction all around the Gulf of Mexico as to what you will read below... The carnage to the United States is so staggering, it will take your breathe away."

Obama's Dilemma / No Scapegoats, No Excuses, No Action

President Obama's dilemma is that he is running out of scapegoats to blame or excuses for his own inability to live up to his campaign promises, move beyond beltway politics and restore transparency and trust to the presidency: Allen L Roland

President Obama is seemingly still reading the owners manual for the presidency while his credibility rapidly sinks in the growing muck of an out-of-control oil gusher in the Gulf.

But the manual seems to be the updated version which was written by the Cheney/Bush administration ~ where the corpocracy reigns supreme and truth and transparency are thrown overboard. The manual Obama needs to read is the Teddy Roosevelt manual of rightful moral and emotional indignation.

In other words, our pragmatic unemotional President is still trying to politically please everyone while the vast majority of Americans want him to rise above politics and do the right thing ~ regardless of the political consequences.

By trying so hard to act intelligent and measured, he ends up seeming distant and a bit dumb.

Frank Rich, made this very same point in his June 4th NY Times column ~ Don’t Get Mad, Mr. President. Get Even ~ where Rich correctly states " But the debate over how to raise the president’s emotional thermostat is not an entirely innocuous distraction. It allows Obama to duck the more serious doubts about his leadership that have resurfaced along with BP’s oil."

Excerpt: " His most conspicuous flaw is his unshakeable confidence in the collective management brilliance of the best and the brightest he selected for his White House team — “his abiding faith in the judgment of experts,” as Joshua Green of The Atlantic has put it ..
Obama’s excessive trust in his own heady team is all too often matched by his inherent deference to the smartest guys in the boardroom in the private sector. His default assumption seems to be that his peers are always as well-intentioned as he is. The single biggest mistake he has made in managing the gulf disaster was his failure to challenge BP’s version of events from the start. The company consistently understated the spill’s severity, overestimated the progress of the repair operation and low-balled the environmental damage. Yet the White House’s designated point man in the crisis, Adm. Rich concludes with the analogy of the need today for a Teddy Roosevelt fire in the belly truth talk pivot point to not only rescue his presidency but the nation as well ~ " But Obama can’t embrace his inner T.R. as long as he’s too in thrall to the supposed wisdom of the nation’s meritocracy, too willing to settle for incremental pragmatism as a goal, and too inhibited by the fine points of Washington policy debates to embrace bold words and bold action. If he is to wield the big stick of reform against BP and the other powerful interests that have ripped us off, he will have to tell the big story with no holds barred. "

In other words, Mr President ~ stop reading the manual, stop being careful, stop playing politics and stop looking for scapegoats as well as making excuses. It's your presidency and you'd better take full charge of it now or you'll soon be a one term lame duck president ~ floating in a sea of BP's oil.

President Obama says he would have fired BP CEO Tony Hayward if he worked for him. Unfortunately, the White House works for BP and the Corpocracy, so his hands are tied ~ and that's how he is acting.

GULF HAS THE SCENT OF A MAJOR DECEPTION

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico may have apocalyptic consequences, a report by the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources said.

The gulf coast is not only drenched with the stench of a poisonous runaway oil gusher but the scent of a major deception perpetrated by BP and condoned by an indifferent Obama administration. When are we going to collectively say ~ I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any longer ?

BP figures that if you can't see it ~ then they don't have to deal with it and that they can hide the true reality of the black death that lurks in the gulf and is slowly moving towards the gulf loop and Florida ~ but people are not only seeing it but beginning to grasp the enormity of this man-made disaster.

And get this ~ Matt Simmons, founder of energy investment bank Simmons & Company, also says that there is evidence of a second oil leak about five to seven miles from the initial leak that BP has focused on fixing. That second leak, he says, is so large that the initial one is "minor" in comparison. Why does this not surprise me ?

In a discovery described last Thursday, scientists aboard a University of South Florida research vessel found an area of dissolved oil east of the leak that is about 22 miles long, six miles wide, and extends from the surface down to a depth of about 3,200 feet, said Professor David Hollander.

And now we have an ominous report by Russia's Ministry of Natural Resources who warned of the impending disaster resulting from the British Petroleum (BP) oil and gas leak in the Gulf of Mexico, calling it the worst environmental catastrophe in all of human history, the European Union Times reported.
Russian scientists believe BP is pumping millions of gallons of Corexit 9500, a chemical dispersal agent, under the Gulf of Mexico waters to hide the full extent of the leak, now estimated to be over 2.9 million gallons a day.

Note that Corexit 9500, disapproved by the EPA, causes the oil to sink and coalesce beneath the ocean surface and out of sight of radar, observers and, of course, the press.Experts say Corexit 9500 is a solvent four times more toxic than oil. The agent, scientists believe, has a 2.61ppm toxicity level, and when mixed with the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, its molecules will be able to “phase transition.” This transition involves the change of the liquid into a gaseous state, which can be absorbed by clouds. The gas will then be released as “toxic rain” leading to “unimaginable environmental catastrophe” destroying all life forms from the “bottom of the evolutionary chart to the top,” the report said. http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=128113&sectionid=3510203

Corexit 9500 can cause central nervous system depression, nausea, and unconsciousness. It can cause liver, kidney damage, and red blood cell hemolysis with repeated or prolonged exposure through inhalation or ingestion according to the MSDS ~ so let's just call it a potential black rain of death !

Bob Dylan was right...A hard rain is a-gonna fall... Obama and BP both know it and they are both stonewalling the release of this information. BP for financial liability reasons and Obama strictly for political reasons in a mid-term election year.

President Obama's reaction to this growing nightmare reminds me of George W Bush's reaction when told about the 9/11 attack, while reading My Pet Goat to a Florida Kindergarten class, Bemusement and Disengagement ~ but why ?
Because both knew the full extent of what was coming down and both were stone walling this information !

It's time to get rightfully angry and many are ~ The shift in spill and other downplayed details from BP have caused environmental activists like Lorraine Margeson of St Petersberg, Florida to rightfully question whether other details are being lowballed as well ~ " From the get go, every aspect of the situation has been downplayed ~ this thing has been out of control in terms of informing the public and transparency from day one "

Wayne Landry, parish council president in St Bernard Parish lashed out at BP's decision to use dispersants that Landry and others rightfully believe have undermined the miles of boom laid out to stop oil on the surface. ~ " Let's start getting at some of the hard hurtful truths. We don't know what we're dealing with ~ It's unacceptable that BP can have this problem, can destroy our marshes, our estuaries, destroy our way of life and at the end of the day can still lie to us about how it's not as bad as anybody thinks ~ our people are furious about this ! "

But what we really need are respected politicians who have seen it all but are willing to give a no-holds-barred critique of President Obama's totally inadequate response to the Oil disaster in the Gulf. Democratic political strategist, James Carville did just that on ABC's Good Morning America with his old friend George Stephanopoulis last week " I have no idea why their attitude was so hands-off here ~ It's just unbelievable ! "

Now you know why ~ Obama, like Bush and Clinton before him, is in bed with Big Oil and nothing, short of extreme voter anger, will break this mutual co-dependent relationship and most certainly not transparency and the truth ~ which must be avoided at all costs. Obviously, the seed of this calamity started with deregulation whereas we left Big Oil alone to mind itself with virtually no effective government oversight ~ and we are now paying the price for this lack of engagement.

By the way, the Roberts Court’s willingness to invent a rule capping punitive damages against Exxon doesn’t bode well for anyone hoping to hold BP accountable for this mounting disaster and to make sure it doesn’t happen again ~ which certainly will not be improved by Elena Kagan's appointment.

Washington's unholy alliance with BIG Oil is now there for the world to see as witnessed by President Obama hands off approach to BP's arrogant negligence. Get this ~ BP still controls claims processing, environmental contractors on land and sea, volunteer assistance, access to the disaster site, and data collection and this is an obvious crime scene.

Center for American Progress senior fellow Joseph Romm rightfully called BP "the Goldman Sachs of big oil" because of its spotty safety record, insistence on voluntary "trust me" self-regulation, and willingness to cut corners to "save a few bucks."

The moral hazard created by privatized profit and socialized risk has allowed bankers to cripple our economy and also allowed energy companies to slowly destroy our planet as witness the creeping gulf black death which is already heading on the gulf loop for the East Coast of America.~ regardless if the well is plugged.

Eleven workers were killed in the blast and by the most conservative estimate, 26.5 million litres of crude have spilled into the Gulf of Mexico, which is already fouling Louisiana's marshes and coating birds and other wildlife.

A CNN poll found that 51% of Americans disapprove of how the Administration is managing the emergency ~ better than BP's 75% disapproval ~ but this is particularly bad for a White House whose brand is all about cool competence ~ but whose Presidential disapproval rating is now 53% ( Rasmussen )

The historic ecological disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is infuriating. As things currently stand, BP's legal liability is "capped" at a maximum of $75 million. That's less than BP makes in profits in one day ! The rest of the astronomical clean up costs will be paid by us ~ American taxpayers. Sign the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund's petition and tell your members of Congress to pass legislation that lifts the oil liability cap and the cap on punitive damages
