It was a scene straight out of the Godfather as US Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Turkey to announce that we would directly support NATO member Turkey's incursion into northern Syria, while in July Turkey's President Erdoğan barely survived a military coup, which is widely believed to have enjoyed US support. Biden’s reversal was at the same time a double-cross of the Kurdish forces which the US had promoted as its proxies in the Syria conflict. This brings to mind a famous scene in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather, where Michael reassures his crime family before assassinating a police captain ~ “It's not personal, it's strictly business.” : Allen L Roland, PhD

In a classic example of American Foreign policy, whose moral integrity greatly resembles a Kissinger inspired American crime family ~ we literally threw Turkey's president Erdoğan under the bus with a thinly disguised US supported coup and then rapidly shifted gears once the coup obviously failed.  However, the failed coup was seemingly supported by the CIA, with the failure also being coordinated with President Erdogan ~ thus making it an intelligence op which was meant to fail and mislead public opinion which it most certainly did. Of course, the real objective is Iran ~ in that regard ~ as Michel Chossudovsky states ~ US military policy consists of creating conditions  for America’s staunchest allies (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel) to confront Iran, and act indirectly on behalf of US interests and “do the job for us”.

 

WSWS aptly describes the Godfather analogy on August 27th ~

Which brings us to our business which is essentially War, Drone assassinations, Regime change and Weapon sales as part of an out-of-control Military/Industrial/Congressional complex ~ all operating under the cloak of American exceptionalism.



WSWS elaborates; "Thirteen years after the invasion of Iraq, which resulted in the deaths of at least a million people, some 4.4 million Iraqis are internally displaced, with over a quarter million forced to flee the country. Questions of foreign policy are not decided, much less deliberated, within the framework of elections. Nowhere in the 2016 presidential race is there a serious debate, for instance, on the character of the US alliance with Turkey or the consequences of launching a de facto NATO invasion of Syria. Congress holds no hearings or votes. It neither seeks nor desires to play a serious role."

The only anti-war peace candidate still standing is Jill Stein who most likely will be denied a place at the Presidential debates and is now marginalized to a lone voice in the impending political darkness. Note in 1988, Democrats and Republicans teamed up to create a corporation called the Commission on Presidential Debates. They set out to deceive Americans by using an official-sounding word like “commission” in their name. The League of Women Voters immediately withdrew its sponsorship of the presidential debates because the demands of the establishment parties would ~ in its own words ~ “perpetrate a fraud on the American voter."

Our political leaders are all apparently committed to war, especially Hillary Clinton, and we as a nation have become a total security police state immersed in apathy and fear as the 15th anniversary of 9/11 draws near.

 

This thinly disguised New World Order committed to Military might was obvious in Hillary's recent speech to the American Legion convention last Wednesday as reported by WSWS ~  " Hillary Clinton’s speech to the American Legion convention Wednesday was a full-throated declaration of the right and responsibility of the United States to control the world by military force. Gordon Duff,  senior editor Veterans Today sums it up our current state of national apathy where evil has thrust its eager hand ~  "America is much more than a police state and far more a “total surveillance state” than even the harshest critics imagine."

 

Duff elaborates;  "What we are saying is this, a monstrosity beyond imagination is there already, waiting to be triggered, one beyond party politics, beyond the concerns of religion or ethnicity.

During seven years of the Obama presidency, something happened that is not being discussed, not even by Obama’s political enemies. Bush era clamp downs on individual freedom after 9/11 have been not only carried forward, but have been pushed on to levels unimagined.

That this was done under a liberal democratic president is unthinkable. Even more unthinkable, however is that Obama’s political enemies not only don’t think he went far enough, they are attacking Donald Trump as well for being, and this is the truth of it, “weak on tyranny and dictatorship.”

BREXIT / ESCAPING FORTRESS EUROPE

A referendum is being held on Thursday, June 23rd, to decide whether Britain should leave or remain in the European Union. To many, Britain leaving the EU is the equivalent of escaping fortress Europe, with all its stifling rules, tariffs and regulations, as well as the growing possibility of a United States of Europe and new world order. OBAMA'S ENDURING GROUND OFFENSIVE = WAR IS PEACE

The New World Order has arrived and Nobel Peace Laureate President Obama is now doing what he was elected to do ~ Preside over a 1984 world Oligarchy where War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength. The stage is set because a common enemy (ISIS) ~ that our illegal invasion of Iraq created ~ keeps the people of Oceania in fear and sets the stage for a New World Order cemented in manipulation and control and totally out of sync with Altruism and Social cooperation ~ the driving forces of evolution and a universal loving plan in action: Allen L Roland, Ph.D

The United States is just over 230 years old and is now firmly entrenched in the seventh stage of all civilizations (Apathy) with only Dependence and eventually Bondage ahead of it. Apathy is the glove into which evil slips its eager hand.

The public Hanging of Head of State Saddam Hussein was an excellent example of that evil at work ~ for his crime was bucking the aims of the Empire or global elite whereas he became more valuable to them dead than alive.

Power corrupts and absolute power absolutely corrupts particularly when its built on a shaky scaffold of blatant lies and manipulation.

In our present Plutocracy we have just made the transition from complacency to national apathy ~ which will surely be followed by dependence on the state and eventually bondage by the state. As Ramsey Clark, former U.S. Attorney General, has said ~ ”We’re not a democracy. It's a terrible misunderstanding and a slander to the idea of democracy to call us that. In reality, we're a plutocracy: a government by the wealthy."

The obvious vehicle for this rapid shift in consciousness is FEAR. Fear, in actuality, is False Exaggerations Appearing Real (under the guise of National Security) but APATHY is a lack of interest and indifference and it has always been the Great American Sin.

Joseph Fort Newman, Atlantic Monthly, wrote about the Great American Sin of Apathy in October, 1922 ~ and it’s worth repeating now in February, 2015;

”What is the great American sin? Extravagance? Vice? Graft? No; it is a kind of half-humorous, good-natured indifference, a lack of "concentrated indignation" as my English friend calls it, which allows extravagance and vice to flourish. Trace most of our ills to their source, and it is found that they exist by virtue of an easy-going, fatalistic indifference which dislikes to have its comfort disturbed....The most shameless greed, the most sickening industrial atrocities, the most appalling public scandals are exposed, but a half-cynical and wholly indifferent public passes them by with hardly a shrug of the shoulders; and they are lost in the medley of events. This is the great American sin."

Unless we as individuals, and then as a nation, conquer fear and apathy we are doomed to dependence and then bondage by a state ruled by the wealthy. That state of dependence is drawing near and only faith and the great courage of civil revolt and even civil disobedience can revitalize this nation .

Now, President Obama is seeking a blank check for perpetual war with his recent proposal for a new Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) ~ ostensibly targeting the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The draft sent by Obama requests that Congress give its approval for military operations against ISIS or “associated persons or forces,” defined as anyone “fighting for, on behalf of, or alongside ISIL [ISIS] or any closely-related successor entity in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners.” This is formulated so as to potentially include organizations or individuals as diverse as Islamist groups in the Middle East and North Africa, homegrown “cells” in Australia, France or the United States itself, or anyone the US claims is aiding and abetting ISIS.

Obama's proposal didn't get rid of the law that started it all: 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force. Last summer the president used it to launch airstrikes on Iraq and Syria. As long as that law stays on the books, he can use it to override nearly any limits in new war authorizations against the Islamic State.

This is a major step in establishing a New World Order with of course America in charge but WSWS points out Obama's blatant attempt to delude the American public in the process ~ " In an attempt to delude the American public, which is overwhelmingly opposed to war, that the new operations are to be limited in scope, the authorization states that it does not provide for “enduring offensive ground combat operations.” Again, the wording is formulated so as to allow virtually any type of military action. There is no definition of “enduring” or “offensive.” Extended combat operations in Iraq, Syria or another country could be justified on the grounds that they were “defensive” or not “enduring.” See WSWS article ~ http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2015/02/12/pers-f12.html

Remember that Dependence is the eighth step in the fall of civilizations ~ only to be followed by Bondage. In many ways George Orwell’s 1984 Oceania has nothing on 2015 America as Paul Joseph Watson wrote two years ago in Infowars.com ~ “Americans are now living in a society that in some cases is more draconian, more invasive and more Orwellian than the dystopian tyranny fictionalized in Orwell’s chilling classic Nineteen Eighty-Four. On almost every front, American citizens are under an equal or greater threat of abuse, control and more pervasive and high-tech surveillance than anything Winston Smith ever faced.”

And here’s the proof that Oceania is almost here ~ Wired magazine’s April cover story in 2012 covered the construction of the blandly named Utah Data Center ~ which was being built for the National Security Agency and is now completed and operational.

As Wired says, "there is no doubt that NSA has transformed itself into the largest, most covert, and potentially most intrusive intelligence agency ever created."

William Binney, a former NSA official as well as senior NSA crypto-mathematician largely responsible for automating the agency’s worldwide eavesdropping network, has gone on record (in Wired) to describe Stellar Wind (NSA's Domestic Spying Program) and offers the best summation of its consequences to all Americans ~ “We are, like, that far from a turnkey totalitarian state.”.

And now President Obama just announced and signed an executive order in Silicon Valley where Homeland Security will be in charge of all information sharing ~ thus cementing the role of the Orwellian Department of Homeland Security, rather than the National Security Agency, as the government lead for information-sharing with the private sector. But in an interview last month, Timothy D. Cook, Apple’s chief executive, said the N.S.A. “would have to cart us out in a box” before the company would provide the government a back door to its products ~ which remains a formidable stumbling block for Obama's intrusive and growing security state.

And thus step by step the stage will soon be set for America’s shift from Apathy to the eighth stage of a civilization’s collapse, Dependence on the State which will be quickly followed by Bondage to the State and Orwell’s prophetic words will finally become a reality ~ "There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live ~ did live, from habit that became instinct ~ in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized."

These words are the official slogans of Orwell's INGSOC Party, and are inscribed in massive letters on the white pyramid of the Ministry of Truth, as Winston observes in Book One, Chapter I (1984). Because it is introduced so early in the novel, this creed serves as the reader’s first introduction to the idea of doublethink. By weakening the independence and strength of individuals’ minds and forcing them to live in a constant state of propaganda-induced fear, the Party is able to force its subjects to accept anything it decrees, even if it is entirely illogical ~ for instance, the Ministry of Peace is in charge of waging war, the Ministry of Love is in charge of political torture, and the Ministry of Truth is in charge of doctoring history books to reflect the Party’s ideology.

That the national slogan of Oceania is equally contradictory is an important testament to the power of the Party’s mass campaign of psychological control. In theory, the Party is able to maintain that “War Is Peace” because having a common enemy like ISIS keeps the people of Oceania united. “Freedom Is Slavery” because, according to the Party, the man who is independent is doomed to fail. PROLES UNITE / PROTECTIVE STUPIDITY IS ORWELL'S CRIMESTOP

We have already gone down the Rabbit Hole of Orwell's predicted fully digital world of 1984 ~ where the global elite or New World Order rules; the Inner Party is the 2% Oligarchical political class which obediently obeys its unseen master; the Outer Party are the 13% bureaucrats of Oceania who carry out the actual work and man the Ministries of Truth (Deception), Peace (War), Love (Torture) and Plenty (Control) and the remaining 85% Proles (Public) are openly exploited but dangerously human ~ and must be distracted at all costs from the truth: Allen L Roland

Now we all have to watch President Obama go on the offensive selling his OBAMACARE sellout to the Health Care Insurance Industry while the public (Proles) are being asked to swallow it hook, line and sinker ~ A public of which over 70% wanted a single pay option.

The hard reality is that Obama care is the biggest Insurance scam in history ~ as Kevin Zeese and Margaret Flowers point out on October 30th in their Truthout Op-Ed; "The Affordable Care Act (ACA), also called "Obama care," may be the biggest insurance scam in history. The industries that profit from our current health care system wrote the legislation, heavily influenced the regulations and have received waivers exempting them from provisions in the law. This has all been done to protect and enhance their profits… We need to recognize that ending the corporate domination of health care is part of breaking the domination of big business over the US government and the economy. Health care is at the center of the conflict of our times, the battle between the people and corporate interests, the battle to put people and planet before profits."

Obama is also deceptively calling Insurance policies Health Care. Let's get something straight, these are obviously policies from private Insurance companies promising to pay doctors and hospitals for sickness and injury claims ~ not Health care.    

In other words, the fundamental flaw of Obama care is that it entrenches a market-based system that treats health care as a commodity and profit center for Wall Street ~ which is implicit in a New World Order which represents the financial elite as well as the Oligarchical political class who answer only to Wall Street.

Crimestop, in short, means protective stupidity and it's now time for the people (Proles) to wake up, unite, demand and arm themselves with the truth, and free ourselves from corporate oppression as well as the mantle of Apathy and reclaim our original freedom.

In the novel 1984, we hear about crimestop through the eyes of protagonist Winston Smith:  

"Crimestop means the faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of any dangerous thought. It includes the power of not grasping analogies, of failing to perceive logical errors, of misunderstanding the simplest arguments if they are inimical to Ingsoc (Government propaganda), and of being bored or repelled by any train of thought which is capable of leading in a heretical direction."

Of course, the novel 1984 alludes to the unwillingness or inability of the proles to organize politically, noting that any prole suspected of independent thought (whistleblower/Blogger) is simply marked down by the Thought Police (NSA) to be killed or eliminated, thus further decreasing the possibility of a dreaded revolution.

None of Orwell's characters suggest the Party could collapse internally, due to the absolute control it exerts over the lives and emotions of its members and we are now dangerously close to that same point of no return ~ unless we find our collective voice and demand the truth.
