In light of President Obama's drone assassination program with
countless collateral civilian deaths as well as worldwide blowback terrorist
attacks, such as recently in Iraq, with thousands of senseless civilian deaths
~ perhaps it's time, voiced by many Americans this Independence day, for
America to take the lead, stop its War of Terror and begin to listen to our
enemies, as former undercover CIA Officer Amaryllis Fox so eloquently

Gandhi's words resonate with me and many
others ~ but I will listen to this new messenger for it has been essentially my message for the
past 15 years and it takes great courage to deliver it. It absolutely makes no one safer to make our cities and
the world a battlefield ~ with no apparent victors.
In the wake of yet another terrorist attack in Iraq and
Bangladesh, as
well as numerous acts of domestic terror, a former CIA counterterrorism agent Amaryllis Fox has
shared her insight into what causes such tragic, intentional carnage ~ and she
is worth listening to despite the skepticism of some of my colleagues. It
represents the high road and the only way out of our current low
road eye for an eye abyss.
Amaryllis Fox spoke for the first time publicly with Al Jazeera Plus
(AJ+) about terrorism, misguided narratives on why it happens, and the
underlying motivators driving it ~ ultimately urging Americans and those
in power to adopt a different approach in combating the ongoing violence.
“If I learned one lesson
from my time with the CIA, it is this: everybody believes they are the good guy,” says
Fox, who is currently “in the process of getting her CIA cover rolled back,” AJ+
reports. She is now a peace activist and runs Mulu, “an e-commerce
company supporting at-risk communities around the world.”
Fox worked as a counterterrorism and intelligence CIA official
for the clandestine services during the 2000s. In her first public statement on
her time there, she discussed the limitations on the American public’s

In summary ~ this former CIA officer's
secret life evidently taught her one important lesson: Listen to your enemy ~ but I would also ominously
add ~ quite often God is sending a message.
