BAND OF BROTHERS DONATION LETTER

Over the last two years I have been facilitating Healing the Wounded Heart workshops for combat veterans with PTSD. The work has been extremely effective in that the participants in those seven Band of Brothers workshops have enjoyed an average 60% improvement in PTSD symptoms and virtually all of them are now seeing through the heart: Allen L Roland

These heart centered workshops are funded by donations from American Legion Posts, Veteran Foundations and private individuals ~ but these barely cover my expenses for eight once a week three hour sessions with six to eight vets for eight weeks.

All of them were once stuck in the grey zone of anger, pain and unworthiness but now a heart centered light has gone on within each one of them. As such, they can now begin to clearly see the path to their full recovery. In essence, by opening their hearts they all finally meet themselves ~ which reminds me of Derek Wolcott’s wonderful poem about the significance of that auspicious and joyful reunion;

Love After Love;

The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here, Eat.

You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life ~ whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart.

Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, the photographs, the desperate notes ~ peel your own image from the mirror.

Sit, Feast on your life.

OWS IS TRIGGER FOR MAJOR SHIFT IN GLOBAL CONSCIOUSNESS

The rapidly expanding "Occupy Wall Street" movement is reacting to anxiety, frustration and fear but it is being fueled by a powerful and worldwide desire for a major change in moral priorities, where cooperation and altruism replace selfishness and greed. OWS is in essence a worldwide intervention on a corrupt and greed addicted corporate state and the people will lead this evolutionary shift in global consciousness by demanding truth, fairness and justice: Allen L Roland and Jim Fetzer

Top down change is fueled by a selfish corporate state whose primary focus is profit and eventually leads to greed, deception and corporate fascism.

Bottom up change is fueled by empowered people whose primary demand is truth, fairness and justice which eventually leads to social cooperation, altruism and true democracy.

The Occupy Wall Street demonstrators marked their 51st day of occupation yesterday, maintaining their Bottom up grassroots protest against financial greed, corruption, and the restoration of social and economic equality ~ and now the movement has spread like wildfire to hundreds of cities around the globe.

As Naomi Wolf writes in AlterNet, ~ “Suddenly, the United States looks like the rest of the furious, protesting, not-completely-free world. Indeed, most commentators have not fully grasped that a world war is occurring. But it is unlike any previous war in human history: for the first time, people around the world are not identifying and organizing themselves along national or religious lines, but rather in terms of a global consciousness and demands for a peaceful life, a sustainable future, economic justice and basic democracy. Their enemy is a global “corporatocracy” that has purchased governments and legislatures, created its own armed enforcers, engaged in systemic economic fraud, and plundered treasuries and ecosystems.”

The enemy has been identified, the war has begun and the people will not only prevail but a major shift of global consciousness is already happening.

The three stages of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement appear to be:

Stage 1. Occupy and establish a visible presence and a moral vision opposing wars of aggression, corporate welfare, cuts in social programs, and the subversion of the Constitution.

Stage 2. Demand the truth, including "9/11 Truth", reform or abolition of the FED, the prosecution of Wall Street fraud and an end to the exploitation of the public by banks and other financial institutions.

Stage 3. Strike, revolt and demand real change, a living wage, where corporations are required to promote the general welfare and where stakeholders ( everyone effected including the environment ) are given priority over stockholders.

The OWS movement has already established a highly visible presence throughout America and is in the process of establishing a moral vision of fairness, cooperation, distributive justice and social responsibility. The diagnosis is fairly obvious and the OWS movement is part of the cure ~ which starts with truth and transparency.

As Robert Reich writes in truth-out.org on November 3^rd ~ “The disconnect between Washington and the rest of the nation hasn’t been this wide since the late 1960s. The two worlds are on a collision course: Americans who are losing their jobs or their pay and can’t pay their bills are growing increasingly desperate. Washington insiders, deficit hawks, regressive Republicans, diffident Democrats, well-coiffed lobbyists, and the lobbyists’ wealthy patrons on Wall Street and in corporate suites haven’t a clue or couldn’t care less. I can’t tell you when the collision will occur but I’d guess 2012. Look elsewhere around the world and you see a similar collision unfolding. The details differ but the larger forces are similar. You see it in Spain, Greece, and Italy, whose citizens are being squeezed by bankers insisting on austerity. You see it in Chile and Israel, whose young people are in revolt. In the Middle East, whose “Arab spring” is becoming a complex Arab fall and winter. Even in China, whose young and hourly workers are demanding more – and whose surge toward inequality in recent years has been as breathtaking as is its surge toward modern capitalism. I spent part of yesterday in Oakland, California. The Occupier movement is still in its infancy in the United States, but it cannot be stopped. Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game – an economy that won’t respond, a democracy that won’t listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards ~ Here, as elsewhere, the people are rising.”

The people are rising, indeed, and soon it will be time to demand the truth about this rigged game and our lost moral values ~ that in many ways started with the 9/11 cover up and has accelerated ever since.

Jim Fetzer, the former Marine Corps officer, McKnight Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota Duluth and founder of Scholars for 9/11 Truth, also recognizes the next step for the OWS movement ~ “What the movement eventually must appreciate is that their concerns about wars of aggression, including the invasion and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, have been justified on the basis of a theory about 9/11 that cannot possibly withstand critical inspection. The “official account” of 9/11 has 19 Islamic fundamentalists hijacking four commercial carriers, outfoxing the most sophisticated air defense system in the world, and committing these atrocities under the control of a guy off in a cave in Afghanistan. And yet the government has never been able to prove that any of those hijackers were aboard any of those planes. We know all those phone calls were faked. And the government has yet to produce even one of millions of uniquely identifiable parts from any of those four aircraft."

"It is startling to realize that Flights 11 and 77 were not even scheduled to fly that day and that the planes corresponding to Flights 93 and 175 were not de-registered by the FAA until 28 September 2005. So how can planes that were not in the air have crashed or planes that crashed have still been in the air four years later? If the planes were faked ~ if they were just as phony as the rest of The 9/11 Report ~ then there are no hijackers; and without hijackers, there are no Islamic terrorists to blame; and without Islamic terrorists to blame, there is no basis for the 'war on terror'".

Jim also wrote on September 10^th, 2011 ~ 20 Reasons the “Official Account” of 9/11 is Wrong, which makes it abundantly clear that what we have been told by our government cannot possibly be true. And in "Peeling the 9/11 Onion: Layers of Plots within Plots" (with Preston James) how the convoluted politics of 9/11 was designed to deceive the public about responsibility for 9/11. And how the mass media has become massively complicit in misleading the public, "The BBC's instrument of 9/11 misinformation" (with Joshua Blakeney).

So why is re-opening the 9/11 wound so important? Because the 9/11 cover up is at the very root of our economy draining wars and occupations, our growing expensive and intrusive surveillance system and the anxiety, frustration and fear associated with our present state of being and economic depression. But above all, it’s responsible for the lack of moral trust in our government since the vast majority of the American people do not believe the official 9/11 cover story nor the severely tainted 9/11 Commission Report.

The big lie of 9/11 is slowly unraveling as more than 1,000 worldwide architects and engineers now support the call for a new investigation into the destruction of the Twin Towers and Building 7 at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Like an alcoholic who won’t face their addiction, the United States won’t give up its addiction to a thoroughly discredited 9/11 official story to justify and maintain its War on Terror, global military superiority and political domination over friends and enemies alike ~ and always at the expense of the people and tax payers.

Our point here is that one of the principle demands of the OWS movement is the demand for truth and transparency from our government ~ and that must eventually lead to 9/11 and the governments role in either condoning this tragedy or aiding in its implementation.

Wall Street is being targeted because the average Wall Street salary grew over 16% last year to $361,330 ~ which is five times the average salary of a private sector worker in the city. A recent study at the University of Michigan showed that banks did not significantly increase lending after their trillions of dollars in bailouts but instead invested (gambled) in risky securities that profited from short term price movements ~ Main Street be damned. And guess who has benefited, more than all the GOP candidates combined, in campaign donations from financial firm employees ~ President Obama to the tune of $15.6 million

In essence, the "Occupy Wall Street" movement is a form of massive intervention by the American people on a political system that is addicted to deception and not only will not listen to them but is quite literally afraid of the truth. Millions of Americans are demanding the truth, fairness and justice and are showing themselves willing to shut down the government to obtain it ~ just as the city of Oakland was shut down last Wednesday.

Don’t think a country cannot be shut down, because this is already happening in Greece ~ where ordinary Greeks are taking matters into their hands and inspiring the Occupy Wall Street movement in the process. The Greeks grassroots refusal to put up with austerity is quickly gaining momentum, as people give up on mainstream politics ~ which we may very well soon be doing. Authors Hara Kouki and Antonis Vradis, Common Dreams, elaborate ~ “People here feel the country is gradually sinking, carrying them down a path dug in arbitrariness and injustice. Yet at this very moment – when it is not only the rules of the game that are challenged but the game itself – they seem to feel empowered to act in ways that would not have appeared feasible in the past: they physically attack politicians, mock and cancel military-inspired national public parades and humiliate army officials attending them, participate in neighborhood assemblies and mass demonstrations (irrespective of the amount of tear gas thrown against them by the police), create grassroots trade unions to demand their labor rights, occupy workplaces, disrupt public services and protest in violent, impulsive, unpredictable ways.”

As America enters Stage Two of "Occupy Wall Street" ~ the demands for fairness, justice and truth will resonate throughout the entire country and world and if Obama, Congress and other world leaders continue to ignore this rising tide of revolt ~ we will soon have a situation similar to what faced Hosni Mubarak in Egypt ~ where Mubarak saw himself fully in charge of a country while the people of his country were occupying the streets and actively planning how they would run the country without him and his corrupt corporate cronies.

In other words, any President, politician or world leader who ignores the scope of the Occupy Wall Street movement will soon be looking back at the bus that ran over them.

Like the Germans in the 30’s, locked into a deep recession, we are being manipulated and conditioned by fear by the corporate state to slowly give up our rights, liberties, guns and freedom ~ and all in the name of National Security and the never ending so called war on terror.

If you’re not deeply concerned, speaking out or taking to the streets, you’re not part of the revolution which is, in reality, a shift in global consciousness ~ and true change will become a consequence of it as it once did 235 years ago.

This revolution or war will be much shorter because no world leader or corporate state can withstand the vast masses demanding truth, fairness and justice ~ and armed with the proven capability of closing down any corporation, city, state or government which does not honor those moral values.

These are indeed exciting times for true change is just around the corner and we, the people, are making it happen. It’s not politics as usual anymore ~ it’s a brand new ballgame and OWS is setting the agenda.

THE WORLD IS A BUSINESS, OCCUPIERS / IT'S ALL ABOUT PROFITS

Make no mistake about it ~ Occupy Wall Street Has now become Occupy America and it’s rattling the cages of the corpocracy and the Global financial elite. The stage has been set ~ the attempt to marginalize truth and dissent through the corporate media will continue until we realize that, to them, the world is a business, its lifeblood is profits and it answers to no one except its stockholders ~ that is, until now : Allen L Roland

Let’s use the firing of Keith Olbermann early this year as an example of the power of the media and corporate America ~ MSNBC’s parent company, General Electric, never seemed comfortable with Keith Olbermann’s role as a critic of the Bush administration, nor, for that matter, of the Obama administration or with the sniping between Olbermann and his Fox News rival, O’Reilly ~ so the axe finally fell on Countdown.

Keith Olbermann spelled it out in his last show on MSNBC: "I think the same fantasy popped into the head of everybody in my business that has ever been told what I have been told ~ “this will be the last edition of your show." You go to the scene from the movie Network, complete with the pajamas and the raincoat and go off on a verbal journey of unutterable vision, and you insist upon Peter Finch's guttural resonance, and you tell the viewer to go to the window, open it, stick out his head and yell I'M MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!

And this is just what the Occupy Wall Street movement is saying to the financially elite and corporate America as it spreads like wildfire ~ I'M MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!

Perhaps Michael Moore best sums up my feelings regarding the rapidly blossoming OWS movement ~ “ I have not felt this good in a very long time. This movement has spread like wildfire. It has happened completely on its own momentum and it's something that can't be stopped. We've been involved in many, many movements over a long period of time and it takes a long time to build these movements, and at the beginning of these movements, the civil rights movement, the feminist movement, the anti-war movement, you didn't have 59 percent of the American public with you in the first month of the movement. Fifty-nine percent of the American public is behind Occupy Wall Street. This has happened so fast and the reason, I think, is that the people are already there. The feeling toward Wall Street, corporate America, toward what's going on, has just been simmering below the surface, and it's just been ready to explode, and it can't be turned back now."

59% of Americans are behind Occupy Wall Street but we are up against a formidable profit making War machine and a captive corporate media that won’t bend unless it’s forced to. In 1961, American corporations paid taxes on 40.6% of their profits made and today they pay 10.5% on profits made.

What Keith Olbermann did not refer to in his comments was Mr. Jensen’s speech to Howard Beale from the same movie Network ~ when Jensen told Beale the facts of life about the corpocracy and that, to them, the world is a business whose lifeblood is profits, regardless of the moral or ethical costs.

So I have taken the liberty to edit Paddy Chayefsky’s brilliant script of that scene with Mr. Olbermann playing the part of Howard Beale when he and Mr. Jensen met alone in the dimly lit MSNBC boardroom in mid January 2011.

Jensen: You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Olbermann, and I won't have it, is that clear?! The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country, and now they must put it back and we are preemptively forcing them to do that. It’s not about human rights and Democracy ~ the world is a business, Mr Olbermann ~ it’s all about profits!

It‘s ebb and flow, tidal gravity, it is ecological balance! You are unfortunately a progressive who thinks in terms of moral values, of right and wrong, nations and peoples. There are no moral values, no rights and wrongs! There are no nations! There are no peoples! There are no Russians. There are no Arabs! There are no third worlds! There is no West! There are only profits to be made, Mr. Olbermann !

There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and innate, interwoven, interacting, multi-variate, multi-national dominion of dollars! petro-dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars!, Euro dollars, Reichmarks, rubles, rin, pounds and shekels! It is the international system of currency that determines the totality of life on this planet! That is the natural order of things today! That is the atomic, subatomic and galactic structure of things today! And you have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and you will atone!

Am I getting through to you, Mr.Olbermann? (pause) You get up on your fifty-one inch screen, and howl about America, democracy and moral integrity but it will do no good ~ no one is really listening.

There is no America, Mr Olbermann ! There is no democracy. There is only IBM and AT&T and Dupont, Dow, JP Morgan, Exxon, British Petroleum and of course General Electric and Comcast. Those are the nations of the world today. What do you think the Russians talk about in their councils of state ~ Karl Marx? They pull out their linear programming charts, statistical decision theories and compute the price-cost probabilities of their transactions and investments just like we do with our derivative high speed trading! We control the world and we mean to keep it that way, Mr Olbermann!

The Stock market has no sympathy for you, your family or your emotions, Mr Olbermann. It desires one thing only ~ profits. And those profits will often come at the expense of everything many wish for in this world but that’s considered collateral damage.

Why do you think we created the World Bank, it’s really quite simple, Mr Olbermann. The World Bank's analytical framework is used to justify a process of "economic repression", which has been applied Worldwide in more than 150 developing countries. For example, the World Bank was actively involved in cooking the data and distorting the social plight of the Tunisian population. The official rate of unemployment was14 percent, the actual level of unemployment was much higher. Recorded youth unemployment was of the order of 30 percent. Social services, including health and education have collapsed under the brunt of the IMF-World Bank economic austerity measures. What happened in Tunisia, and is now happening in Greece, Mr. Olbermann ~ is part of a global economic process which destroys people's lives through the deliberate manipulation of market forces and all in the name of profits!

Tony Blair got it ~ it’s all about protecting our way of life (chuckle ) Every time he said those words ~ the same words he used to justify our preemptive humanitarian attack on Iraq, and now on Libya, I get shivers of delight running up my spine. He’s our man in the Middle East and now North Africa ~ with all that sweet crude ( chuckle).

Cheney and Bush not only got it ~ they accelerated it ~ bless their hearts ~ particularly Cheney’s crippled one ( sigh )

Obama gets it, too ~ He made his deal with the devil before he was elected and promised not to prosecute Cheney and Bush for war and financial crimes in turn for not rocking the boat with Wall Street. Why do you think we chose JP Morgan’s William Daly as his new chief of staff as well as his recent appointment of General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt as the head of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness ( Chuckle ) ~ they are his constant reminder that he answers to the financial elite on Wall Street and not Main Street ~ as Emanuel was most certainly his reminder not to cross AIPAC.

Obama answers to Wall Street and the corpocracy, Mr. Olbermann ~ not to the American people ( chuckle ).

We’re heading for a New World Order, Mr. Olbermann, and guess whose going to be funding it ~ an unaudited federal reserve and IMF who will bail out our excesses as they did under Bush and Obama. It may not seem fair, Mr. Olbermann but its business and that’s how the game is played.

We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr. Olbermann. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable by-laws of business. The world is a business, Mr. Olbermann! It has been since man crawled out of the slime, and our children, Mr.Olbermann, will live to see that perfect world in which there is no war and famine, oppression and brutality ~ one vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock, all necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused. And I chose you to preach this evangel, Mr.Olbermann, and you have obviously failed !

Olbermann: (shocked whisper) Why me?

Jensen: Because you're on television, dummy. One million people watch you every night of the week, Monday through Friday ~ and you’re starting to tell the truth and that makes us very, very nervous. Phil Donahue, who preceded you, made the same mistake by telling the truth in the run-up to the Iraq war and we felt he was a very difficult face for NBC in a time of war ~ so we fired him!

Truth tellers scare us, Mr. Olbermann ~ it’s important for us to keep the public tranquilized and amused but not necessarily well informed. The last thing we want is them taking to the streets demanding change. The world is a business, Mr. Olbermann ~ your truth talk is not serving us ~ you’re fired !

OCW WAVE WILL SOON BECOME A TSUNAMI / WALL STREET BEWARE

Every city that joins the Occupy Wall Street movement is another Banderilla placed in the back of a corrupt capitalistic system whose days are numbered. This movement started as a ripple, is now a wave and will soon become a people led Tsunami which will change America forever: Allen L Roland

There is something glorious in the people led Occupy Wall Street movement for it is rooted in the moral imperatives of justice, self-sacrifice and social responsibility.

The New York Times reports that a recent poll shows that 54% of Americans have a favorable impression of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which is twice the 27% who have a favorable impression of the Tea Party movement. The apparent reason is the Tea Party sees itself as stressing only individual responsibility ~ whereas the Occupation Wall Street Movement is stressing both individual and social responsibility

Chris Hedges calls it non historical values ~ “values closer to Martin Luther King than Abby Hoffman ... the movement eschews the hedonism of the New Left; indeed it does not permit drugs or alcohol in Zuccotti Park. It denounces the consumer culture and every evening shares its food with the homeless, who also often sleep in the park. But, most important, it eschews, through a nonhierarchical system of self-governance, the deadly leadership cults that plagued and ultimately destroyed the movements of the 1960s.” http://www.commondreams.org/view/2011/10/24-1

And therein lays its magnificence ~ OCW is rooted in truth, fairness and social responsibility which were once the underpinnings of our once great Republic.

We have obviously forgotten the words of Benjamin Franklin ~ " Wise and good men are, in my opinion, the strength of the state; much more so than riches and arms.”

As I stated on Press TV Saturday night ~ Occupy Wall Street will soon become Occupy America and any politician that does not heed its call for real moral and economic change, including President Obama, will be left in its wake. Get off the couch ~ there is no change without action and action always involves risk or difficulty ~ which makes the resultant change, as Epicurus wrote, far more glorious.

As such, this is change we can finally believe in.
