BERNIE SOARS IN WISCONSIN, NEW YORK NEXT ~ HILLARY AND ESTABLISHMENT RATTLED

As Bernie soared with a major victory in Wisconsin, his real opponent is revealed and it's not just Hillary Clinton ~ it's the bought and sold major media and establishment who support Clinton and all but ignored Sander's triumph as they continue to pad the bankroll of an increasingly irrelevant Hillary who is still weighed down with credibility issues and making her last stand for the status quo and Wall Street in New York: Allen L Roland, PhD

“I learned early on not to be automatically dismissive of a Bernie Sanders initiative or amendment… He’s tenacious and dogged and he has determination, and he’s not to be underestimated.”  Senator Roger Wicker / Republican, Mississippi

The Wisconsin win for a determined but not be underestimated Bernie Sanders is his sixth in the last seven presidential nominating contests, but he still faces a difficult task to overtake Clinton as the presidential nominating race moves to New York on April 19 and to five other Eastern states on April 26 ~ but the momentum has clearly changed in favor of Bernie partcularly regarding the direction of the Democratic Party.

WSWS reports that "Sanders outpolled Clinton in 79 of the state’s 82 counties and dominated nearly every demographic and income group. He won more than 80 percent of the vote among those aged 18 to 29, more than 70 percent of the vote among independents, and defeated Clinton by 54 percent to 44 percent among nonwhite voters under 45 years of age."

He has now won seven of the last eight contests for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Most of exit poll voters want change but correctly feel that Sanders is better equipped to “shake up” the status quo ~ and Hillary unfortunately represents the embodiment of the establishment and status quo.

WSWS further reports that "In its election night coverage, the American media barely reported these figures, showing far greater interest in the fortunes of billionaire demagogue Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner. The media portrayed the victory of Texas Senator Ted Cruz over Trump as a political earthquake while downplaying Sanders’ more sweeping victory over Clinton."

See WSWS article ~

Despite this near media blackout ~ Sanders said he was optimistic he could win in New York, Oregon, and California and both Hillary and the establishment are clearly rattled.

The victory comes as a reluctant Hillary and eager Bernie have agreed to meet for a debate on April 14, five days before the New York primary.

Bernie needs to win up to two-thirds of the remaining delegates to catch Hillary, who will keep accumulating delegates even when she loses under a Democratic Party system that awards them proportionally in all states ~ but that support advantage is evaporating as the Bernie wave continues to strengthen with each primary victory and Hillary's vulnerability becomes more apparent. Riding on President Obama's coat-tails is not fooling anyone ~

As John Pilger expounds in CounterPunch ~ "The 2008 presidential campaign of Barack Obama should have alerted even the most dewy-eyed. Obama based his “hope” campaign almost entirely on the fact of an African-American aspiring to lead the land of slavery. He was also “antiwar”.

Obama was never anti-war. On the contrary, like all American presidents, he was pro-war. He had voted for George W. Bush’s funding of the slaughter in Iraq and he was planning to escalate the invasion of Afghanistan. In the weeks before he took the presidential oath, he secretly approved an Israeli assault on Gaza, the massacre known as Operation Cast Lead. He promised to close the concentration camp at Guantanamo and did not. He pledged to help make the world “free from nuclear weapons” and did the opposite.

As a new kind of marketing manager for the status quo, the unctuous Obama was an inspired choice. Even at the end of his blood-spattered presidency, with his signature drones spreading infinitely more terror and death around the world than that ignited by jihadists in Paris and Brussels, Obama is fawned on as “cool” (the Guardian)."

But Pilger saves his most damaging words for Hillary ~ "Trump is a media hate figure. That alone should arouse our scepticism.…The danger to the rest of us is not Trump, but Hillary Clinton. She is no maverick. As presidential election day draws near, Clinton will be hailed as the first female president, regardless of her crimes and lies ~ just as Barack Obama was lauded as the first black president and liberals swallowed his nonsense about “hope".

"One of Hillary Clinton’s most searing crimes was the destruction of Libya in 2011. At her urging, and with American logistical support, NATO, launched 9,700 “strike sorties” against Libya, according to its own records, of which more than a third were aimed at civilian targets. They included missiles with uranium warheads. See the photographs of the rubble of Misurata and Sirte, and the mass graves identified by the Red Cross. Read the UNICEF report on the children killed, “most (of them) under the age of ten”.

As WSWS points out ~ "Sanders is riding a wave of economic anger and hostility over social inequality. Despite all efforts to cover it up, it has proven impossible to conceal the deeply rooted sickness of American society: the ever-widening economic gulf between the top one percent (or one-tenth of one percent) and the broad masses who work for a living and produce the wealth"  ~ but I point out that Sanders is a truth teller and credible people's candidate whereas Hillary is not trusted and a pawn for an already discredited establishment, which is obviously her moneyed 1% base.

As I have said before ~ the true test of a person's character is not how they handle adversity but how do they handle political power and in that regard Hillary's flawed political character is best witnessed with her unguarded reaction on CBS, as Secretary of State, to the brutal assassination of former ally Libya's Muammar Gadhafi ~ "We Came, We Saw and He Died "

YouTube video ~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtH7iv4ip1U

Make no mistake about this ~ The Clintons ARE the Status Quo and the Establishment and Hillary's feeble attempts to don populist garb is laughable.

If Hillary tries to disqualify Sanders, she will end up disqualifying herself in the minds of millions of voters who do not trust the Clinton lie machine. She will then parade a thoroughly discredited Bill Clinton, from out of political mothballs, as well as try to win at any cost ~ including her own extremely shaky integrity.

I rest my case, the only true alternative to the establishment and a continuation of the Status Quo is Bernie Sanders.

BERNIE AND JEREMY / A NEW WORLD ORDER BASED ON PEOPLE POWER

“The problems we face, did not come down from the heavens. They are made, they are made by bad human decisions, and good human decisions can change them.”
~ Bernie Sanders

There is a reason that Bernie Sanders has surged ahead in the Presidential Primary Polls and that Britain's Jeremy Corbyn has done the same thing in the UK ~ it's people power and it won't be stopped. The honesty of Bernie Sanders is a lifeboat in a sea of political deception and lost hope and soon he will be joined by the UK's Jeremy Corbyn as a worldwide counter balance to corporate power and the elite 1 percent as well as a genuine reflection of a new world order based on people power: Allen L Roland, PhD

As I wrote in VT in May of 2015 ~ Admit it, most of us know the political system is rigged, that most Americans have been marginalized and silenced by a growing plutocracy and that corporations are now firmly in control, that a truly honest politician is an oxymoron, that is until now ~ Bernie Sanders is a lifeboat in a sea of political deception and lost hope. Bernie is an honest Independent politician who cares enough now in 2015 to become a Democrat, run against Hillary and the other political pretenders of both parties for the presidency and who knows ~ A Sanders/Warren ticket just may ride a building progressive wave of Hope that is still waiting to crest and has now spread to the UK with the election of Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn. See May VT Post / http://www.veteranstoday.com/2015/05/02/give-em-hell-bernie-the-game-is-on/

As I mentioned in my VT post, Bernie has my support and you may call me a dreamer but as John Lennon once sang ~ I'm not the only one ~ and my dream team ticket is still a Sanders/Warren ticket for President riding a populist wave to victory in 2016.

In some ways, it's David versus Goliath but never underestimate the power of honesty and the truth ~ it can change the world but Hillary and her rapidly crumbling corporate machine is no longer an entitled Goliath but instead a politically weakened dinosaur.

Without a single TV ad ~ or a single congressional endorsement ~ Sanders has exposed the weakness of the party’s Clintonian establishment while at the same time spotlighting its hunger for an ideological saviour. Polls now indicate that if the nominating contests were held tomorrow, Sanders would edge out Clinton in Iowa and beat her in New Hampshire by atleast 10 points. Nationally, he has cut Clinton’s lead from an impregnable 46 points to a rapidly disappearing 21 points in just two months.

Here is Rachel Maddow commenting on Bernie Sanders amazingly consistent ongoing campaign for the people / 11 minutes / YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isartIlC1i8&feature=em-share_video_user

A few days after announcing his candidacy, Bernie told a reporter “I think people should be a little bit careful underestimating me,” and I most certainly am not making that mistake with Bernie Sanders ~ but I would now add that these days no one is underestimating Bernie and many are finally taking notice and are obviously getting involved.

HERE ARE THE OTHER REPUBLICAN CHOICES

My favorite quote about the recent Republican debates is from Ralph Nader ~ "If the Republican Party’s early primary campaigns for the presidential nomination had an elephant and a clown car, Ringling Brothers would be in trouble."

It is war profits that drive Republican war hawks as evidenced in their last debate: Here are Col. Lawrence Wilkerson's candid remarks (Real News) on the last GOP debate as Wilkerson and Paul Jay discuss the war mongering talk of star of the moment, Carly Fiorina, and most of the other GOP candidates ~ who all clearly demonstrate that our Democracy is dying and that none of these clowns are electable. Must see if only to hear the tough truth from Wilkerson about our sad political state ~ 17 minute videohttp://therealnews.com/t2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=74&jumival=14745

Without a doubt, the most disingenuous statement mentioned in that circus of Republican Presidential imbeciles is Jeb Bush's statement that his brother George W "kept us safe on 9/11" ~ which is as far from the truth as the official 9/11 report.

As Kay Steiger writes in RSN (No Jeb, Your Brother did not Keep us Safe) ~ " Much of the analysis following the World Trade Center attacks revealed that the Bush administration ignored warnings that such a plot could be in the works. Declassified documents indicate that Osama bin Laden had been planning the attacks for years. But rather than preparing for potential terrorist attacks, reports indicated that the Bush administration was more focused on missile defense…. most evidence indicates that the war in Iraq was dangerously misguided. The Iraq war wasn’t linked to the attacks on U.S. soil, and a 2006 intelligence report indicated that the U.S. presence in Iraq actually worsened the threat of terrorism. Ultimately, nearly 5,000 American troops and other allied troops gave their lives during the war in Iraq."

John Dean calls 9/11 worse than Watergate and correctly identified Cheney as the chief villain ~ "9/11 was a perfect storm, a moment they had anticipated when looking earlier for a catalyst necessary to accomplish their broader (PNAC) Neocon goals "....."Cheney's persuasiveness behind closed doors, one on one, is legendary. With a rookie in national security matters, like Bush, Cheney can be both a Svengali and a Rasputin......With Bush and Cheney, not only is Cheney the senior partner, he is prime minister".

NOW THERE'S BERNIE AND JEREMY

Chris Hedges correctly gauges the political significance of Jeremy Corbyn in ICH: "The politics of Jeremy Corbyn, elected by a landslide Saturday to lead Britain’s Labour Party after its defeat at the polls last May, are part of the global revolt against corporate tyranny. He had spent his long career as a pariah within his country’s political establishment. But because he held fast to the socialist ideals that defined the old Labour Party, he has risen untarnished out of the ash heap of neoliberalism. His integrity, as well as his fearlessness, offers a lesson to America’s self-identified left, which is long on rhetoric and preoccupied with accommodating the power elites ~ especially those in the Democratic Party ~ and very short on courage." See article ~ http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article42852.htm

Sounds a lot like Bernie Sanders and watch as Corbyn slowly replaces the infamous and thoroughly discredited Tony Blair as the potential Prime Minister and voice of the British people in 2020.

Labour Party economic adviser John Weeks discusses Corbyn's economic policy, his new shadow cabinet, and his first act as the leader of the Labour Party to address the #EuropeSaysWelcome: European Day of Action for Refugees. See interview ~ http://therealnews.com/t2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=74&jumival=14714

"I think to bring about a peace process you have to talk to people [with whom] you profoundly disagree. There is not going to any peace process unless there are talks involving Israel, Hezbollah and Hamas."  Jeremy Corbyn

Here's a very believable Jeremy Corbin being interviewed on British TV and watch the now visible shape of the future ~ causing much consternation from neoliberal Prime minister David Cameron. 14 minute video.

THE BIG PICTURE

As Chris Hedges correctly asserts ~ "Corbyn’s ascent to the head of the Labour Party has already triggered a backlash against him by the forces of the neoliberal political order. These forces are determined to prevent him from becoming prime minister. The entrenched elites within his own party ~ a number of whom have already resigned from party leadership positions in protest of Corbyn’s election ~ will seek to do to him what the Democratic establishment did in 1972 to George McGovern after he won the party’s nomination. The rhetoric of fear has already begun. Prime Minister David Cameron on Sunday tweeted: “The Labour Party is now a threat to our national security, our economic security and your family’s security.” This battle will be ugly"

This battle for power will indeed be ugly in the United States and Britain but battle tested Bernie and Jeremy are ready ~ for the worldwide populist dye is cast and Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn will eventually lead the way to a New World order based on people power versus corporate power and perhaps Justice will eventually be served.

Congressional Reform Act Of 2010

CONGRESSIONAL REFORM ACT OF 2010

It's time for action by the American electorate in order to take our Republic back from the Plutocracy. The Congressional Reform Act of 2010 will restore the original intent of our founding fathers for citizen legislators ~ serve your limited term with honor, go home and go back to work: Allen L Roland

The founding document of the United States, the Declaration of Independence, states that governments derive "their just powers from the consent of the governed." Today, however, just 21% of voters nationwide believe that the federal government enjoys the consent of the governed ( Rasmussen Polls )

Four out of five voters rightfully feel that Congress is more interested in serving special interests than voters ~ so let's dramatically remind them who they work for. A government by the wealthy ( Plutocracy ) serves only Wall Street and leaves Main Street disillusioned, angry and rebellious as it most certainly is now.

Here are the telling results of the latest New York Times/CBS News poll. A few key observations ~

1. When asked what the most important problem facing the country is (question 4), here were the winners:

Jobs: 27%
Economy: 25%
Other: 16%
Health Care: 13%
Budget Deficit: 4%
DK/NA: 4%

2. Three-quarters of the public disapproves of Congress, matching the highest level measured by the New York Times/CBS News Poll since it began asking the question in 1977. Four out of five voters thought Congress was more interested in serving special interests than voters.

3. Only 8% of Americans think that “most members of Congress” deserve re-election ~ so here's my timely solution which will finally restore power to the tax paying voters of America.

Serving in Congress should be an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serving their term(s), and then going home and back to work ~ so here's the solution in eight basic steps.

Congressional Reform Act of 2010

1. Term Limits: 8 years maximum, one of the possible options below.

A. Two four year Senate terms

B. Four Two year House terms
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding
Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work
.

2. No Tenure / No Pension:

A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security:

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, server your term(s), then go home and back to work.

4.. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

5.. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3% and no more than social security.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

7. Congress must equally abide in all laws they impose on the American people.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.
The American people did not make this contract with congressmen, congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

Pass this around to you friends and maybe we can begin the process of taking our Republic back.
