American military forces participating in Nevada Atomic testing

From 1951 to 1970 the United States Government conducted over 1100 Atomic tests in Nevada whose radiation fallout has resulted in over 200,000 deaths throughout the country ~ instant karma for the over 200,000 deaths from the Atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945 and now Fukushima is slowly radiating the West Coast. In less than 70 years, Karmic law has once again asserted that those who ride the forces of evil will eventually be crushed by the very same forces: Allen L Roland, Ph.D

I was only 11 years old when The United States dropped the first Atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. I remember the moment well for I was sitting across the street at the Thompson Club, Nahant waiting for my twin brother to join me to play baseball. Suddenly I felt an immense sense of collective loss ~ and then a short time later my twin brother came running from across the street telling me that we had dropped an Atomic bomb on Japan. Even at that young age, I somehow sensed we had released an evil powerful genie that could eventually destroy ourselves and the planet.

Power corrupts, absolute atomic power absolutely morally corrupts, particularly when it is in the hands of the Military/Industrial complex with the power to control and destroy the world ~ whereas human life eventually becomes collateral damage as it did with the Atomic testing during the sixties in Nevada.

The extent of the Nevada testing most probably included the development of the Davy Crockett tactical nuclear warheads which have been linked to many false flag events including 9/11. See VT Article

Here's a chart of the radiation fallout pattern from the Nevada testing ~ please note that it extends well across the country while compensation is only being offered to a few states bordering Nevada.

As Wikipedia reports ~  Downwinders refers to individuals and communities who are exposed to radioactive contamination or nuclear fallout from atmospheric or underground nuclear weapons testing, and nuclear accidents. Currently, this article focuses on incidents in the United States, or caused by its weapons testing.

The impact of nuclear contamination on an individual is generally estimated as the result of the dose of radiation received and the duration of exposure, using the Linear No-Threshold Model (LNT). The hypothesis was adopted for regulatory purposes about 65 years ago and has no scientific evidence to support its validity in the years since then. It is vehemently rejected by the health and epidemiological communities in the face of abundant data refuting its validity. Sex, age, race, culture, occupation, class, location, and simultaneous exposure to additional environmental toxins are also significant, but often overlooked, factors that contribute to the health effects on a particular "downwind" community

Here's some color film footage of atomic bomb tests in Nevada - especially the downwinders as well as hundreds of soldiers being exposed to high levels of radiation. 5 minute video

The United States Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) is a federal statute providing for the monetary compensation of people, including atomic veterans, who contracted cancer and a number of other specified diseases as a direct result of their exposure to atmospheric nuclear testing undertaken by the United States during the Cold War, or their exposure to high levels of radon while doing uranium mining. The 1990 act provided the following remunerations:

  • $50,000 to individuals residing or working "downwind" of the Nevada Test Site
  • $75,000 for workers participating in atmospheric nuclear weapons tests
  • $100,000 for uranium miners, millers, and ore transporters

In all cases there are additional requirements which must be satisfied (proof of exposure, establishment of duration of employment, establishment of certain medical conditions, etc.).

In some cases, however, it was extremely difficult for people to receive their compensation, especially in the case of the widows of uranium miners. Because many uranium miners were Native Americans, they did not have standard marriage licenses required to establish a legal connection to the deceased. In 1999, revisions were published in the Federal Register to assist in making award claims. See Down winders article

On April 18, 2013, H.R. 1645: The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act Amendments of 2013 was introduced in Congress and promptly referred to committee with virtually zero chance of being enacted. There have currently been no votes related to this bill ~

The yellow states on this RECA chart are still virtually uncompensated for their exposure to radiation from over 1100 Atomic tests due to Congressional inaction or lack of public outcry. In 1980, People magazine revealed some consequences of continental nuclear testing for American citizens. The magazine disclosed that of some 220 cast and crew who filmed a 1956 film, The Conqueror, on location near St. George, Utah, (over 120 miles from Atomic test sites) ninety-one had come down with cancer, with an unheard of 41 per cent morbidity rate. Of these, forty-six had died of cancer by 1980. Among the victims were John Wayne and Susan Hayward, the stars of the film.

Color film footage of atomic bomb tests with active duty military personnel at Camp Desert Rock, Nevada Test Site, Nevada, shows soldiers in foxholes as nuclear detonation occurs nearby; light and shockwaves; blowing dust; soldiers climbing out of foxholes and running towards mushroom cloud. Some of this footage is familiar by virtue of having been seen in the film Atomic Cafe. Many soldiers who were present were exposed to high levels of radiation ~ and soon to be joined by countless civilians downwind ~ who were also assured by their government that there was nothing to fear. See 8 minute video ~

And now we have the 2011 nuclear meltdown at Fukushima releasing another Genie of ongoing deadly radiation, along with the same old government assurances and lies, to an equally complacent public.  For those who are not concerned by the payback from nuclear radiation ~  here's a Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945 - 3 Times Faster / 6 minute video

Once again, Power corrupts, absolute power absolutely morally corrupts, particularly when it is in the hands of the Military/Industrial complex with the power to control and destroy the world ~ and now we are realizing the deadly instant karma from the political mindset of the military complex to bomb, incinerate and fatally radiate over 200,000 people at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.

“After the thing went off, after it was a sure thing that America could wipe out a city with just one bomb, a scientist turned to Father and said, 'Science has now known sin.' And do you know what Father said? He said, 'What is sin?”

Mourning Rubble

For Gaza

When darkness overcomes us

And Hope lies in the past

What in our hearts sustains us?

How do we make love last?

When our weakness overwhelms us,

And we watch as children die,

How can we breathe this still foul air?

What makes us even try?

We see grief upon a father’s face.

We hear a mother’s scream.

How do we find another place

For tortured hearts to dream?

With darkness all around us

Where do we find a light?

What makes us wake another day

To strive to set things right?

What makes us dare to toil and sweat?

What makes us try again?

What fools are we as we forget?

Is darkness some strange friend?

What fools has this God made us

To believe in spite of all

That we can build a city

On this rubble of Hope’s fall?

What fools has this God made us

To hold this foolish thought

When Hope is but a memory

Ere yesterday’s battle was fought?

What fools has this God made us

To wake another day

To greet the sun with gritted teeth

To hold our pain this way?

Where comes this courage to curse us

To strive when Hope is gone

To place tired step and then again

Make empty hearts march on?

Yet this is how God made us

As woman and man and friend

To hold each to each in darkness

To await this foul night’s end.

Morning’s light reveals the rubble

And darkness fills our soul

And Hope is scarce remembered

As a diamond gone back to coal

Dark misery fills the rubble

Pain crushes every heart

Evil grabs with rage-honed claws

To tear our souls apart.

How look we on this horrid scene?

How do we breathe again?

How will we own this bitterness?

And ever love again?

But in this morning’s glaring darkness

We hear a baby’s cry

Love pours again from foolish hearts

Like sweet rain from empty sky.

And thus has this God made us

Like fools who have no choice

And innocence melts the darkness

And we hear Love’s fatal voice.

And Love will own our hearts again

And from it Hope is born

In the face of death and tragedy

We smile bravely and face this morn.

When darkness overcomes us

And Hope lies in the past

It is Love itself that saves us

And Hope ever follows fast.

It is Love itself that saves us

‘Tween woman and man and friend

Love that gives us courage

And Hope that will not end.

My twin brother Bobby died on August 17th, 2013 but he still
lives in my heart.

I felt a deep sense of sadness this last week before I realized that I was approaching the one year anniversary of his passing.

I still feel his presence in my soul because he is now one of the many angels watching over me.

Those who we love deeply become part of us forever and Bobby
will always be a part of me.

Being a twin is an exhilarating experience for I have been twice blessed ~ One for having a traveling companion on my 9 month journey to this planet, especially since we were not wanted ~ and secondly for spending much of my early childhood playing with my inseparable friend and companion while sharing so many delights together.

I remember many of them but two distinctly stand out ~

We were both about 12 years old and since there was no Little League at that time, my mother sent us to a golf caddy camp in southern Massachusetts for the summer. It was in shambles and a god forsaken spot. We both hated it and felt like we were in a slave camp caddying every day for the Golf club members and existing on tips, terrible food and horrible living conditions.

I reluctantly adjusted to the dull routine but Bobby got sick and soon I realized that he was not getting better.

We were in separate cabins, or tents, and I still vividly remember going to his tent one day looking for him. I found him huddled in a low corner bunk, shivering in a cold sweat, looking feverish and almost dead.

There was no camp doctor or nurse and I realized in panic that he was going to die unless I did something ~ I was deeply concerned so I hiked into town, convinced someone to use their phone and called my mother. I literally screamed at her to come and get us or Bobby was going to die.
She did and Bobby survived double pneumonia and we returned home to Nahant, Massachusetts.

A few years later we were sent to Mount Hermon Prep school in Western Massachusetts.
The school placed us in two separate campus dwellings although we sought each other out every day and played sports and hung out together. I vividly remember early in our stay at Mount Hermon waking up one night and missing his presence. So I climbed out the window, stole across the campus to his lodging, climbed up the wall to his window, opened his window and crawled into bed with him.

That last memory is probably the best description of the indescribable loving connection that many Twins

Most people can barely comprehend or understand what Bobby and I experienced not only in the womb but also through most of our early childhood ~ before it tragically ended when he was forced to get married at 16 years old and became a reluctant father while I graduated from college, joined the Navy, moved to the West Coast as a Naval Aviator and never returned to the East Coast.

But the deep soul connection never really ended ~ for I was there for him in spirit during the last year of his life before he died from advanced Parkinson's Disease in August, 2013.

In November of 2012, I wrote him a note entitled  LOVE NOTE TO MY TWIN for I sensed his time was coming to an end and I wanted to prepare him for his transition. See article ~

My dearest twin,

As you look out your window at the old Thompson Club, you may not remember the glorious summer days we spent as children playing baseball, football and even tennis together but I will help you ~ for I remember virtually everything about our closeness and the fun we had together as twins, before events forced us to go on separate paths in our late teens.

It was so special to wake up every morning with my best friend and playmate ~ we were the Hardy Boys, my favorite book series, embarking on new daily adventures and using the whole peninsula as our playground. The Thompson club was our sports arena and depending on the season ~ it became Fenway Park or any sports stadium we invented in our active and exuberant imaginations.

The barn in our backyard became the set piece for all the movies we watched and acted out as well as the radio shows we listened to ~ The Shadow, Jack Armstrong, The green Hornet, the Adventures of Sam Spade , the Lone Ranger and of course, the Inner Sanctum and Lights Out.

Once again, in many ways, we WERE the Hardy Boys ~ "The Hardy Boys are constantly involved in adventure and action. Despite frequent danger, the boys never lose their nerve ..."  They are hardy boys, luckier and more clever than anyone around them." They live in an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue: "Never were so many assorted felonies committed in a simple American small town. Murder, drug peddling, race horse kidnapping, diamond smuggling, medical malpractice, big-time auto theft, even (in the 1940s) the hijacking of strategic materials and espionage, all were conducted with Nahant (Bayport) as a nucleus." With so much in common, the boys are so little differentiated that one commentator facetiously describes them thus: "The boys' characters basically broke down this way ~ Frank (Allen)  was the thinker while Joe ( Bobby ) was more impulsive, and perhaps a little more athletic." The two boys are infallibly on good terms with each other and never engage in sibling rivalry."  Wikipedia / Hardy Boys

Those were fun childhood times in Nahant and I vividly remember the hurricanes that swept over that Peninsula as we watched from our top floor bedroom perch on 287 Nahant Road ~ two houses down from the Jesmond Home where you now reside.

You were my constant companion and sharer of joy and we were indelibly connected together through our shared nine month journey to this planet and obvious deep loving twin connection.

The twin connection defies description, Bobby ~ it's a loving connection that goes beyond time and space ~ it's a deep knowing soul connection that was cemented in the womb as well as our shared birth experience.

Since I am the first born twin, two minutes before you, it is my responsibility to prepare you for the final transition by sharing that God (a loving plan in action) only reveals itself to a grateful heart and that alone will prepare you for your final passage.

My heart is most definitely grateful that you were my loving twin and companion for so many years and I will most certainly be with you in your final moments and most definitely when you pass through the event horizon of physical death.

Right now, you may feel increasingly alone since it's so difficult to speak and move ~ but you are being well taken care of and are most certainly loved by your immediately family as well as brothers and sisters.

But be aware that I am already holding your hand, as I did as a young enfant, and as you look out that window at the Thompson Club you will see me beckoning to you, with a baseball bat on my shoulder, telling you to hurry up before the summer rain squall starts and you will smile knowingly and be grateful, as I am, that you are indeed blessed to be a twin.

With my deepest love and joy

Bobby died on August 17th, 2013 but not before reaching out to his beloved daughter Vanessa, who took his hand and reminded him that he was not alone ~  that myself and his beloved grandfather were also holding his hand through her and ready to welcome him home.

Those who we love deeply become part of us forever and Bobby still lives in many hearts including mine. But especially mine because I feel the same deep loving connection with my life partner, Keiko ~ for we both feel we were twins in another lifetime and deeply love and support each other in this lifetime.

Spurred on by 9/11 and the War on Terror, America has become a feared military force of terror but the prime target has always been the American public which is becoming increasingly aware of their Government sponsored militarized police who see and relate to them as Middle East terrorists until proven innocent such as in Ferguson, Missouri. The military-style occupation of Ferguson, Missouri has ripped aside the thin veneer of democracy to expose a budding police state. This is what martial law looks like: Allen L Roland, Ph.D

As I watch, with alarm, the rapidly growing American militarized Police State as well as George W Bush and Dick Cheney’s recent book tours ~ where they rationalize their illegal wars and economic rape of Iraq and Afghanistan as well as justify torture as a means to this criminal end ~ I am immediately reminded of Milton Mayer’s classic THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE FREE (The Germans 1933 – 1945).

Mayer’s book describes the slow but sure seduction of the German people as their civil liberties, freedoms and moral values were gradually stripped away by Hitler’s fascist government while waving the flag of national security and patriotism.

But Then It Was Too Late ~ "What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if the people could not understand it, it could not be released because of national security. And their sense of identification with Hitler, their trust in him, made it easier to widen this gap and reassured those who would otherwise have worried about it this separation of government from people, this widening of the gap, took place so gradually and so insensibly, each step disguised (perhaps not even intentionally) as a temporary emergency measure or associated with true patriotic allegiance or with real social purposes. And all the crises and reforms (real reforms, too) so occupied the people that they did not see the slow motion underneath, of the whole process of government growing remoter and remoter.”

Apathy increases with each measured step, as it most certainly has in America, and Mayer knowingly describes the consequences for Germany in the early 1930’s~

In between come all the hundreds of little steps, some of them imperceptible, each of them preparing you not to be shocked by the next. Step C is not so much worse than Step B, and, if you did not make a stand at Step B, why should you at Step C? And so on to Step D ~ and one day, too late, your principles, if you were ever sensible of them, all rush in upon you. The burden of self-deception has grown too heavy, and some minor incident, in my case my little boy, hardly more than a baby, saying 'Jewish swine,' collapses it all at once, and you see that everything, everything, has changed and changed completely under your nose. The world you live in ~ your nation, your people ~ is not the world you were born in at all. The forms are all there, all untouched, all reassuring, the houses, the shops, the jobs, the mealtimes, the visits, the concerts, the cinema, the holidays. But the spirit, which you never noticed because you made the lifelong mistake of identifying it with the forms, is changed. Now you live in a world of hate and fear, and the people who hate and fear do not even know it themselves; when everyone is transformed, no one is transformed. Now you live in a system which rules without responsibility even to God. The system itself could not have intended this in the beginning, but in order to sustain itself it was compelled to go all the way… You have accepted things you would not have accepted five years ago, a year ago, things that your father, even in Germany, could not have imagined … Suddenly it all comes down, all at once. You see what you are, what you have done, or, more accurately, what you haven't done (for that was all that was required of most of us: that we do nothing).” Read article ~

And that is Mayer’s main point ~ it is the spirit that dramatically changes when we accept if not condone the disintegration of our national moral values and civil liberties through illegal wars and occupations as well as our crimes against humanity such as torture, secret renditions as well as intrusive full body scans and pat downs, which will continue to be extended under the pretext of national security and the War on Terror ~ and especially when it extends to our own country, America.

Paul Craig Roberts correctly writes that the War on Terror is a Hoax; “In the past decade, Washington has killed, maimed, dislocated, and made widows and orphans millions of Muslims in six countries, all in the name of the “war on terror.” Washington’s attacks on the countries constitute naked aggression and impact primarily civilian populations and infrastructure and, thereby, constitutes war crimes under law. Nazis were executed precisely for what Washington is doing today.”  See article ~

Then what was is the Obama/Biden administration so afraid of?

They are obviously afraid of the Truth and, in particular, an informed public in possession of the truth. And the truth is that we are owned, lock, stock, and barrel by Wall Street, the Corpocracy and Washington as well as a Congress that is in bed with them. And that the War on Terror is being increasingly being seen, by the world, as a War of Terror on anyone who does not fall in step with a heavily armed Imperialistic fascist state and it's surrogate states ~ such as Israel.

It is interesting to note that the one country on this planet that is seen as the greatest threat to World Peace is the United States. (2014  WIN/Gallup International Poll)

Which brings me to Ferguson, Missouri ~ as an obvious example of where we are heading by treating American citizens like terrorists or insurgents in an occupied country. An analysis done earlier this summer by the New York Times found that since 2006, police departments across America have received 435 armored vehicles, 533 planes, 93,763 machine guns, and last, but not least, 432 mine-resistant armored trucks, because you never know when you're going to run into terrorist laid mines on Main Street USA.

FERGUSON, Mo. ~ In the five days since an unarmed young black man, Michael Brown, was fatally shot by a police officer here, the selective release of information about the shooting, and especially the anonymity granted to the officer, has stoked frustrations in this largely African-American community north of St. Louis, where residents describe increasingly tense relations with a militarized police. This is once again what Martial law looks like.

The Ferguson Police Department riot squad moving towards a protester. (photo: Getty Images)

As reported by Julie Bowman and Erick Hekholm, NY Times ~ "On Wednesday night, scores of police officers in riot gear and armored trucks showed up to disperse protesters who had gathered on the streets near the scene of the shooting. Some officers perched atop the vehicles with their guns trained on the crowds while protesters chanted, “Hands up, don’t shoot.” A police spokesman said that some demonstrators had thrown Molotov cocktails at officers and that some had tried to set fires. The police used tear gas on demonstrators, and some protesters said rubber bullets had been fired at them. Police said one officer appeared to have suffered a broken ankle after being hit by a brick…Two reporters covering the protests also said they had been arrested inside a McDonald’s for trespassing and later released without charges or an explanation. The reporters, Wesley Lowery of The Washington Post and Ryan J. Reilly of The Huffington Post, both said they had been handled roughly by the police."  See report and video :

As Carl Gibson correctly writes in Reader Supported News ~ "The FAA has just declared city of Ferguson a no-fly zone, prohibiting news choppers from documenting protests and police abuses. And in their first official statement since the shooting of Michael Brown, Ferguson police said citizens should only protest during daylight hours. This implies that citizens demonstrating after sunset are fair game for repression. The framers of the Constitution never wanted there to be a sunset clause on the First Amendment…. What’s happening in Ferguson, a suburb of Saint Louis, Missouri, is just like what’s happened in Anaheim, California, after the killing of Manuel Diaz by local police. It’s the same thing that happened in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighbourhood after the NYPD killed 16-year-old Kimani Gray. And it’s the same police response that was seen in Oakland, California, and Portland, Oregon, and many other cities around the country during the heavily-militarized crackdown on the Occupy Wall Street movement." See article ~

Combat in large cities is central to the military doctrine of Martial Law that is being developed by the US armed forces. This is spelled out in a document entitled “Megacities and the United States Army: Preparing for a complex and uncertain future,” which was released in June by the Army’s Strategic Studies Group and endorsed by its chief of staff, Gen. Raymond Odierno.

Describing the conditions that it anticipates will require US military intervention, the report warns, “As inequality between rich and poor increases … Stagnation will coexist with unprecedented development, as slums and shanty towns rapidly expand alongside modern high-rises. This is the urban future. ”Radical income disparity,” is further described as the foremost “driver of instability” in these far-flung urban areas.

"In other words, the Pentagon brass is seeking to prepare the US military for directly counterrevolutionary interventions aimed at quelling popular revolts that it sees as the inevitable consequence of the unprecedented social inequality created by world capitalism in crisis." See WSWS article on same subject ~

As Carl Gibson correctly points out ~ "The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 made it clear that military forces are not allowed to be deployed in civilian neighborhoods for law enforcement purposes. While the law originally was meant for branches of the U.S. armed forces, it should also apply to police departments using equipment meant only for U.S. armed forces in war zones. Because of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act, the so-called “War on Terror” included all of the United States as part of the “battlefield,” making it fair game for Posse Comitatus to be eliminated. It also allows for the indefinite detention in a military facility for anyone deemed to be a potential terrorist under loosely-defined parameters. This sets a dangerous precedent for the future of a democratic society."

We are now seeing direct evidence of Mayer's vision of civil liberties, freedoms and moral values being gradually stripped away by our neo- fascist government while waving the flag of national security and patriotism ~ and Ferguson may soon be joined by many more communities unless we make the Demilitarizing of police forces an election-year issue in all municipalities for candidates who are running for mayor, city council, alderman, or selectman.

Police officers shouldn't be breaking down any citizen's door at 3 a.m. armed with AR-15s and flash bang grenades in search of a small amount of drugs, while an MRAP idles in the driveway. The anti-militarists, however, are in the minority right now. And until that changes, violent paramilitary police raids will continue to break down the doors of nearly 1,000 American households a week: Matthew Harwood / Senior writer/editor at the American Civil Liberties Union
