EGYPT UPRISING / TWO MINUTE WARNING FOR OLD WORLD ORDER

Egypt’s current uprising is a two minute warning for the old world order which controlled the populace by force and US military aid but are now being crushed by growing public dissent and a long simmering desire for true change, individual liberty and political freedom ~ the times are a changing: Allen L Roland

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Revolution is in the air and particularly in the Middle East. The flood waters of discontent as well as the desire for true change is rising throughout the world and that includes the United States. President Obama still does not get that millions of Americans voted for true change in 2008 and saw him as a self proclaimed agent of that change. Instead, Obama has offered token change and has become a champion of the status quo as well as the economic and moral abuses of power that were the trademark of the Bush/Cheney administration and the rapidly decaying old World order.

Those waters of discontent are still rising and are fueled by worldwide poverty, unemployment and political disenfranchisement as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer under an obviously outdated old world order ~ which holds onto its power through force, fear and propaganda.

As Charles Angoff once wrote ~ “History is a symphony of echoes heard and unheard. It is a poem with events as verses.”

Well, history is now being made with the recent uprisings in Tunisia and particularly Egypt and its echoes are being heard globally ~ particularly in the middle East. As I have argued for many years, truth and transparency are always the first step in social revolution as well as an eventual evolution in consciousness. The worldwide internet, Wikileaks and other sources have fully revealed the rusting infrastructure of the old world order which still relies on force, economic manipulation and propaganda to maintain its hold over the people. Of course, the Global financial elite see the handwriting on the wall and have chosen Obama to be the interim leader of the transition from the old world order to the new world order ~ with America and the secretive Federal Reserve still firmly in financial control of the restless seething masses seeking true change.

Egypt, however, is a game changer because the truth of Egypt’s role as a key staging post for US military actions and Imperialistic designs in the Middle East is now becoming known to the world ~ as Finian Cunningham writes in Global Research ~ “There is clear evidence from international human rights groups that countless “suspects” rendered by US forces in their various territories of (criminal) operations are secretly dumped in Egypt for “deep interrogation”. The country serves as a giant “Guantanamo” of the Middle East, conveniently obscured from US public interest and relieved of legal niceties over human rights. In collaboration with Israel, and openly described as an “ally” by Tel Aviv, Egypt has shown itself to be the anvil to Israel’s hammer against the Palestinian people. In keeping the Raffah Crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip closed, thus denying badly needed humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the aftermath of Israel’s murderous 2009 assault, Mubarak has shown unspeakable callousness and willingness to collaborate with the criminal US/Israeli policy of “collective punishment” of this civilian population.”

www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=22994

Obama is a political pragmatist who is much more comfortable reacting to events versus taking a firm leadership role. He rationalizes his reluctance to initiate needed action by politically straddling the middle which infuriates his dwindling base and emboldens his opposition. Egypt is the perfect example in that Obama concluded that there was no real chance of serious reform under strongman Mubarak and seriously underestimated the rapidly growing secular opposition which has rallied around former U.N. nuclear director Mohamed ElBaradei who clearly sees Washington’s hypocrisy ~ “ The Obama administration has been at best luke-warm towards our cause of democracy ~ Clinton’s statement on Tuesday~ calling Mubarak’s government “ stable “ and that it was responding to the needs and interests of the Egyptian people ~ reflects the Obama policy for the past two years”. That’s the Obama straddle and Mubarak was so emboldened that he staged a rigged parliamentary election last November, setting himself up for re-election, while the Obama administration muted any criticism, as the old world order lumbered on choosing to ignore the growing public dissent and their rightful demands ~ that is, until now! Incidently, ElBaradei is a moderate who doesn't share Washington's allergy to Islamist parties and has publicly questioned the Obama Administration's strategy on Iran's nuclear program.

Obama has done exactly the same political straddle since his election with his failed promises, infuriating his base and emboldening the opposition which led to his devastating defeat in the mid term elections. Let’s get this straight ~ Obama is not a change agent, Obama is a maintainer of the status quo who answers to the financial elite and the old world order. Right now, Obama’s only choice is to embrace change or be eventually overrun by it ~ there is no more room to straddle.

Yes, the times, they are a changing ~ and the truth and transparency of a decaying old world order, based on military force and financial manipulation, is finally becoming apparent to the masses and they are revolting or as Zbigniew Brzezinski recently declared ~ the entire world has become politically awake !

As Jeff Cohen writes in Truthout ~ "For decades beginning during the Cold War, US policy in the Islamic world has been aimed at suppressing secular reformist and leftist movements. Beginning with the CIA-engineered coup against a secular democratic reform government in Iran in 1953 (it was about oil), Washington has propped up dictators, coaching these regimes in the black arts of torture and mayhem against secular liberals and the left.... One of the mantras on US television news all day this Friday was: Be fearful of the democratic uprisings against US allies in Egypt (and Tunisia and elsewhere). After all, we were told by Fox News and CNN and Chris Matthews on MSNBC, it could end up as bad as when 'our ally' ( the Shah ) was overthrown and the extremists came to power in 1979." http://www.truth-out.org/jeff-cohen-fear-extreme-islamists-arab-world-blame-washington67267

Egypt’s corruption goes deep ~ Their vice president Vice President Omar Suleiman was the C.I.A.’s point man in Egypt for renditions ~ the covert program in which the C.I.A. snatched terror suspects from around the world and returned them to Egypt and elsewhere for interrogation, often under brutal circumstances.

In regards to current American policy in the Middle East, Columnist Gilad Altzmon rightfully attributes U.S.’ failed approach to a foreign policy that is shaped by Israeli interest and exploited by such Zionist lobbies as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), so expect more U.S. supported force before Mubarak bends to the demands of the masses in the street. But the die has been cast, meaning a irrevocable choice has been made by the Egyptian people and they will not relent. For example, the Israeli embassy has been shut down in Egypt's capital and its diplomatic staff has been flown to Tel Aviv (allegedly) disguised as tourists. The Star of David has been lowered and is no longer visible anywhere in Cairo.

The times they are indeed a changing ~ but some anticipated it.

Naguib Mahfouz , the great Egyptian writer who won the 1988 Nobel Prize for Literature, wrote of this eventual uprising many years ago ~ We are like a woman with a difficult pregnancy. We have to rebuild the social classes in Egypt, and we must change the way things were.

And it was Teilhard de Chardin who wrote about the chain reaction when the truth finally becomes obvious to all ~ Sooner or later there will be a chain reaction, for the truth has to appear only once, in one single mind ( or nation ) for it to be impossible for anything ever to prevent it from spreading universally and setting everything ablaze.”

And the truth is that we are all one with a common urge to unite ( the Unified Field ) which transcends all nationalities, restrictive monarchies and totalitarian regimes. Egypt has just signaled a two minute global warning to the old world order that their controlling days are numbered, the people are marching ~ they will no longer be oppressed ~ they will no longer be a lap dog for the West !

There are moments when history is written not by the powerful, but by the people. This is one of them. The actions of ordinary Egyptians in the coming hours and days will have a massive effect on their country, the region, and our world. Let’s cheer them on with our own pledge to stand with them in their struggle for freedom from oppression:

THE WORLD IS A BUSINESS, MR OLBERMANN / YOU'RE FIRED

Make no mistake about it ~ Keith Olbermann’s truth telling was rattling the cages of the corpocracy and he either quit or was asked to abruptly leave his popular prime time TV spot .The stage has been set ~ truth and dissent will be slowly marginalized until we accept and realize that the world is a business, its lifeblood is profits and it answers to no one except its stockholders: Allen L Roland

MSNBC’s parent company, General Electric, never seemed comfortable with Keith Olbermann’s role as a critic of the Bush administration, nor, for that matter, of the Obama administration or with the sniping between Olbermann and his Fox News rival, O’Reilly ~ so the axe finally fell on Countdown.

Keith Olbermann spelled it out in his last show on MSNBC: "I think the same fantasy popped into the head of everybody in my business that has ever been told what I have been told ~ this will be the last edition of your show." You go to the scene from the movie Network, complete with the pajamas and the raincoat and go off on a verbal journey of unutterable vision, and you insist upon Peter Finch's guttural resonance, and you will the viewer to go to the window, open it, stick out his head and yell ~'I'M MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!! ” http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/01/olbermann-quits-msnbc/

But what Keith did not refer to was Mr. Jensen’s speech to Howard Beale from the same movie Network when Jensen told Beale the facts of life about the corpocracy and that the world is a business whose lifeblood is profits ~ regardless of their moral or ethical costs.

So I have taken the liberty to edit Paddy Chayefsky’s brilliant script of that scene with Mr. Olbermann playing the part of Howard Beale when he and Mr. Jensen meet alone in the dimly lit MSNBC boardroom.

Network Excerpt
written by Paddy Chayefsky
( Updated by Allen L Roland )

Jensen: You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Olbermann, and I won't have it, is that clear?! The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country, and now they must put it back and we are preemptively forcing them to do that. It’s not about human rights and Democracy ~ the world is a business, Mr Olbermann ~ it’s all about profits!

It‘s ebb and flow, tidal gravity, it is ecological balance! You are unfortunately a progressive who thinks in terms of right and wrong, nations and peoples. There are no rights and wrongs! There are no no nations! There are no peoples! There are no Russians. There are no Arabs! There are no third worlds! There is no West! There are only profits to be made!, Mr Olbermann !

There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and innate, interwoven, interacting, multi-variate, multi-national dominion of dollars! petro-dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars!, Euro dollars, Reichmarks, rubles, rin, pounds and shekels! It is the international system of currency that determines the totality of life on this planet! That is the natural order of things today! That is the atomic, subatomic and galactic structure of things today! And you have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and you will atone!

Am I getting through to you, Mr.Olbermann? (pause) You get up on your fifty-one inch screen, and howl about America, democracy and moral integrity but it will do no good ~ no one is really listening.

There is no America, Mr Olbermann ! There is no democracy. There is only IBM and AT&T and Dupont, Dow, JP Morgan, Exxon, British Petroleum and of course General Electric and Comcast. Those are the nations of the world today. What do you think the Russians talk about in their councils of state ~ Karl Marx? They pull out their linear programming charts, statistical decision theories and compute the price-cost probabilities of their transactions and investments just like we do with our derivative high speed trading! We control the world and we mean to keep it that way, Mr Olbermann!

The Stock market has no sympathy for you, your family or your emotions, Mr Olbermann. It desires one thing only ~ profits. And those profits will often come at the expense of everything many wish for in this world but that’s considered collateral damage.

Why do you think we created the World Bank, it’s really quite simple, Mr Olbermann. The World Bank's analytical framework is used to justify a process of "economic repression", which has been applied Worldwide in more than 150 developing countries. For example, the World Bank is actively involved now in cooking the data and distorting the social plight of the Tunisian population. The official rate of unemployment is 14 percent, the actual level of unemployment is much higher. Recorded youth unemployment is of the order of 30 percent. Social services, including health and education have collapsed under the brunt of the IMF-World Bank economic austerity measures. What is happening in Tunisia, Mr Olbermann ~ is part of a global economic process which destroys people's lives through the deliberate manipulation of market forces and all in the name of profits !

Tony Blair gets it ~ it’s all about protecting our way of life ( chuckle ) Every time he says those words ~ the same words he used to justify our preemptive attack on Iraq ~ I get shivers of delight running up my spine. He’s our man in the Middle East.

Cheney and Bush not only got it ~ they accelerated it ~ bless their hearts ~ particularly Cheney’s crippled one ( sigh )

Obama gets it, too ~ He made his deal with the devil before he was elected and promised not to prosecute Cheney and Bush for war and financial crimes in turn for not rocking the boat with Wall Street. Why do you think we chose JP Morgan’s William Daly as his new chief of staff as well as his recent appointment of General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt as the head of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness ( Chuckle ) ~ they are his constant reminder that he answers to the financial elite on Wall Street and not Main Street ~ as Emanuel was most certainly his reminder not to cross AIPAC.

Obama answers to the corpocracy, Mr. Olbermann ~ not to the American people ( chuckle ).

We’re heading for a New World Order, Mr. Olbermann, and guess whose going to be funding it ~ an unaudited federal reserve who will bail out our excesses as they did under Bush and Obama. It may not seem fair, Mr. Olbermann but its business and that’s how the game is played.

We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr. Olbermann. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable by-laws of business. The world is a business, Mr. Olbermann! It has been since man crawled out of the slime, and our children, Mr.Olbermann, will live to see that perfect world in which there is no war and famine, oppression and brutality ~ one vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock, all necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused. And I chose you to preach this evangel, Mr.Olbermann, and you have obviously failed !

Olbermann: (humble whisper) Why me?

Jensen: Because you're on television, dummy. One million people watch you every night of the week, Monday through Friday ~ and you’re starting to tell the truth and that makes us very, very nervous. Phil Donahue, who preceded you, made the same mistake by telling the truth in the run-up to the Iraq war and we felt he was a very difficult face for NBC in a time of war ~ so we fired him!

Truth tellers scare us, Mr. Olbermann ~ it’s important for us to keep the public tranquilized and amused but not necessarily well informed. The world is a business, Mr. Olbermann ~ your truth is not serving us ~ you’re fired !

Here’s the original must see five minute link to Mr. Jensen’s five minute monologue to Howard Beale in Network.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3vbCxj2ifs

Let those words sink in because our Republic is in peril and we still most assuredly need progressive truth tellers and dissenters like Keith Olbermann. The late George Carlin was another and here’s his appropriate 5 minute American Dream ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acLW1vFO-2Q

Good night, Keith and good luck!

SUPER SUNDAY IS JANUARY 23rd / JETS AND PACKERS WILL PREVAIL

Mark Sanchez after the Jets defeated the Patriots last Sunday to reach the A.F.C. championship game.

Super Sunday is the NFL Championship on January 23th where the final four NFL teams square off before home team crowds, zero degree weather and an excited nationwide TV audience watching pure pro football at its exhilarating best ~ before it becomes sanitized and commercialized as the Super Hype Bowl two weeks later: Allen L Roland

OK, there’s a lot going on with Obama cementing his marriage with Wall Street with the appointment of Bill Daly as his New chief of Staff and appointing General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt as the head of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness which also cements Obama’s on going relationship with the military/Industrial complex.

This is also a signal that Obama sees his new base as the financial elite or corpocracy because both Daly and Immelt will play key fundraising roles in the upcoming 2012 presidential campaign ~ Main Street and progressives be damned.

Of course, Keith Olbermann saw the handwriting on the wall since GE owns Comcast, MSNBC and NBC and took his popular progressive voice of dissent from MSNBC to the Internet ~ the last bastion of the truth.

But I digress, for all of that is certainly newsworthy but tomorrow is super Sunday where we have two NFL must watch championship games with far less distracting pregame hype which often passes for programming with the Super Bowl.

Super Sunday is for true football fans and it’s played in Chicago and Pittsburg under brutal weather conditions. Its the final four literally fighting it out for a chance to play in the hyped up Super Bowl two weeks later in a highly commercialized air conditioned Cowboy stadium in Arlington,Texas ~ where most of the nation will watch the million dollar a minute commercials and study their super bowl pool bets after every quarter ( and constant time outs ) to see if they won the big bucks. We’re talking Super Bowl lottery here!

By that time the passion of super Sunday will have diminished into super hype where the only fight left is between corporations to get the biggest bang for their commercial buck while the final two find themselves buried under PR confetti while vainly trying to keep their game faces for a game that has become a happening ~ and they are not really the main event.

But now back to the must watch Super Sunday, January 23rd where the Green Bay packers take on the Chicago Bears in the early game and the New York Jets battle with the Pittsburg Steelers in the late game.

I’m picking the two number six seeds ( Packers and Jets ) to win on the road at respectively Chicago and Pittsburg and here’s why;

1. The Packers and Jets are battle tested and are peaking at the exact right time and are both excellent road teams.

2. The Steelers are banged up from their intense battle with Baltimore last weekend and are getting old.

3. Chicago essentially had a bye last week with Seattle and will have a hard time matching up with a focused Packer team with a hot Aaron Rodgers at the helm.

4. The Jets Santonio Holmes is the ultimate clutch receiver and he has something to prove against the Steelers who traded him two years ago after he caught the Super Bowl winning pass in the last minute against the Arizona Cardinals.

5. No one knows what Chicago team will show up Sunday but everyone knows what Green Bay team will show up ~ and the stadium will be packed with frantic Packer fans who drove down from Green Bay.

In summary, the Jets and Packers will prevail on Sunday and the Jets ( who are no strangers to major hype and distractions ) will prevail over the Packers in the aftermath of Super Sunday ~ which is also called the Super Bowl while Jimmy Jones entertains an aging George W Bush upstairs in the owners box and the world groans in unison.
